The manager's awful. Food overpriced.
Was very impressed with this new addition to Lavender Hill. A very comprehensive menu and was good value at about £15 per person for starter, main and a drink.
Really nice food, the sashimi wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but the tempura and beef rice dish was really good. And we had excellent service, it was a Monday night and fairly quiet.
Will be back here in the future
I have ordered from Miyajima numerous times and never had a problem, although this time we ordered crazy dragon rolls and they eel was off and tasted foul. My partner and I got sick so I called to complain and to make sure they informed the kitchen. When they came round to pick up the left over sushi and the report, the delivery man tried to charge me for an extra delivery fee even though I was receiving a refund. He then tried to patronise me asking me if I'd ever had sushi before and he could assure me theirs was the best quality fish around and extremely good food! I am sure it is not the best sushi considering the fish stank and tasted like a week old.
I eat sushi every week and it's safe to say I'll never be spending my money there again.
Great food and it's nice to have a reasonably priced restaurant with ambient lighting and a different feel to the italian generic restaurants and bright pizzerias in clapham.
The atmosphere does really feel authentic and the overworked waitress was attentive and sweet- although sevice is slow it doen't matter as the food is good value and we could all do with being patient once in a while.
I think this place is going to prove itself and become a bit of a gem-so enjoy the prices whilts they last-Lavender Hill is going to be the new Northcote Road soon!
The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, the food is lovely, but what's with the attitude on the manager?
Rather than simply being lazy and unconcerned, he seems to actively go out of his way to antagonise and irritate his customers.
He's been the same on each of my three visits. Unless you're looking to be spoken to like an idiot and glared at with open contempt, seek your sushi elsewhere.
I will not be visiting again.
Great food, generous servings, lovely staff and reasonable prices - the only thing that is missing is a functioning website for home deliveries.
