This is a lovely little restaurant (although it has an upstairs as well) - very nice service every time I've been (contrary to the other reviewers). We were even given a complimentary glass of champers when the maitre d' found we booked online. Prices are reasonable and the food is absolutely excellent. There are specials of the day alongside the regular a la carte. Things to try are French Onion soup, the parfait of duck foie gras (which came with an excellent toasted brioche and onion marmalade), the onglet (medium rare), duck is also good, and the fish is also consistently good. Try the sautee pots too! I've never had a bad meal there and I've been going for the last 15 years or so. Wine list is excellent and well chosen. Puddings can be a little thin if I'm being picky.
Good pre-theatre menus too...

Nice food but a very indifferent waiter who I have a suspicion was the manager. Bordered on rude but just about got away with it.

I had dinner with my husband and his parents at Mon Plaisir as a special treat for their wedding anniversary. Everything about the evening was perfect (food, wine, service, atmosphere). I would highly recommend Mon Plaisir to anyone.

Hint to Mon Plaisir - it's probably wise to not treat your customers with complete disdain. And if you are the patron of Mon Plaisir and choose to loudly disparage them from the next table, check that they don't speak French and understand every word.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every meal taken at this fine restaurant and make it a point to visit at least once every time I am in London. That's 3-5 times per year since 1975.
