I went to Monmouth Coffee Co with my partner after seeing that is was in The Best section on this site. While we enjoyed our coffee, I have had better I am afraid. The coffee was nice and the staff were polite and friendly, but the whole layout was rather odd. The tables seat about 4/6 comfortably and 8 at a squeeze. You have to share with whoever is there. While I don't mind sharing, I found it hard to relax and enjoy my coffee. Another thing is that they only use full fat milk. No semi skimmed , skimmed and I didn't even see any soya. They may well have had some somewhere though. The sugar was also in a big bowl on the table for everyone to share. I found this to be rather unhygienic, especially as the women on our table couldn't figure it out, so they kept tasting it and dipping their spoons back in. Really put me off. There is a limited selection of cakes as well. I wouldn't ordinarily be that bothered, but we came especially as the shop was in The Best section. We had to squeeze past people to sit down, get out, and get out.
A little disappointing, although it was lovely.

Small but perfectly formed (well maybe a little cramped). Excellent coffee - well worth a visit.
You can get a really good coffee at Monmouth Coffee Co., it’s a nice little place with helpful staff. Pop into Monmouth Coffee Co. for a quick pick me up if you’re in the area.
