A great restaurant in a private members’ club overlooking Berkeley Square.

The Venue
Housed on the first floor of an elegant Georgian building overlooking the illustrious Berkeley Square, Morton’s restaurant occupies a light and airy room, with French windows that open onto a small balcony where two people can enjoy al fresco dining in private.

A selection of modern art hangs on crisp, white walls, and is changed frequently to keep members (many of whom attend the monthly Art Club) interested and the overall design is sleek and stylish.

The Atmosphere
Unlike sister restaurant, The Greenhouse, Morton’s appeals to all ages with a casual dress code contrasting very agreeably with the immaculate service that you would expect to receive at a top London members’ club. Having said that, the food here is fairly expensive although the quality of the dishes does justify the price tag.

The Food
Three kitchens including a dedicated bakery and patisserie ensure that the food at Morton’s exceeds even the highest of expectations. Traditional European staples are combined with surprising ingredients including Japanese Mizuna leaves to create intricately flavoured dishes such as Tuna Carpaccio with sesame seeds and coriander and orange dressing.

The Drink
Morton’s wine cellar, bursting with over 10,000 bottles sourced from chateaux, auctions and private cellars, is one of the largest, private collections in the UK and serious wine lovers will drool over a list which features bottles including the Clos St Hune VT Hors Choix Musigny Blanc from DeVogue Hermitage La Chapelle, 1961 and the Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice, Tokaji Essencia 1881.

Luckily, a team of expert sommeliers are also on hand to guide those who are slightly less confident towards the perfect glass or simply to offer a few interesting facts about your choice.

The Last Word
Morton’s private dining room, surrounded by the famous wine cellar, is very private indeed and would make a great location for business meetings where sensitive issues are being discussed. However, wherever you choose to dine in Morton's, you can rest assured that the evening will be memorable for only the right reasons.
