Simply fantastic!!! We visited Nazrul in Brick Lane last night for the first time, and im sure it wont be the last! The service was excellent and once seated downstairs were even offered another table that they had cleared upstairs. We reserved a table for 10pm and the restaurant was packed and had a happy, lively atmosphere. All waiters were extremely attentive. They even took us to the off licence to get alcohol so we could receive discount. The food was authentic and came hot. Definitely a music if visiting.
The best place to get a Karahi in Brick Lane, plus the Mixed Grill starter is an absolute revelation. Other restaurants try to replicate it, but they never quite get there. Always too busy, always queues, but still completely worth it.
We visited Nazrul today because it was the only restaurant on the Brick Lane street not touting for custom. Most restaurants were either empty or atleast half empty at best but this venue was almost full. A busy restaurant without a tout seemed to us as an indication of good food and so we decided to try it out. Upon entering the restaurant the whole atmosphere seemed amazing. it was obvious people were enjoying themselves as everyone had a bright look on their face. After being seated we were handed with the menu and a few minutes later we ordered our food. I ordered the Tandoori Butter Chicken and my Wife ordered Haryali Chicken Masala, both were house special dishes. When the food arrived the aroma of the curry hit us right away and we started eating without delay. The dishes were amazing, even more amazing was the Peshwari Nan, it was the best nan I have ever tasted! both the Butter Chicken and Haryali Masala with Peshwari Nan were perfectly cooked and amazingly tasty. We left the place happy and relieved that we made the right decision in choosing this curry house. Highly recommend this to everyone.
Having booked at Aladins we were transferred here to its sister restaurant and equally it failed to disappoint. We were told both kitchens are headed by the same chef but we beg to differ. This venue is better than the original.
fresh, tasty Indian flavours at amazing value! i was very impressed. nice decor too. the owners are friendly and helpful and the service is quick. hopefully they'll be able to maintain the food quality going forward!

Little gem on Brick Lane. Refreshing to see a quality indian on the busy Lane.

Simply brilliant! I was in a group of seven men and we were treated courteously by very attentive staff. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere great. We ate late afternoon and everything tasted fantastically fresh. We went on a strong recommendation and will be going back, Thanks guys for a fantastic meal
One of the finest restaurants on the street of brick lane. Definitely recommended.

Simply fantastic.
Unpretentious atmosphere with good chilled music. Friendly, happy and polite staff, but most importantly, delicious, good selection of food and its a BYOB - all in all a perfect evening - thank you...
Let me make this very short and simple; from service to food-from staff to atmosphere, is just what we wanted for a Friday night out with a group of friends. Fantastic place, will definitely return.
Fabulous curry and exceptional service too! The tandoori butter chicken accompanied with peshwari nan was the best I've had by far. The restaurant is full of colourful atmosphere and very lively. The waiters are a bit on the cheeky side but keep you happy. Worth a visit at the least if you plan to have curry in Brick Lane.
Avoid. This used to be our regular restaurant in Brick Lane.....until recently. Service was always fantastic, food was excellent and prices were good. Last visit....food was bland, service was appalling (plates were cold, started cleaning our table with bleach whilst we were finishing our drinks and waiters very on the brink of rude) and then tried to overcharge us. As below, non-itemised bill with just a total at the bottom that seemed way over what it should be ...it was! Seems the old guy has sold it to someone esle and boy does it show. Avoid.
went there yesterday and had a lovely evening with friends and delicious indian food. I really liked the combination of authentic indian food and modern dining space and enjoyed that you are able to taste the fresh food without having the smell of incense sticks. A really different experience to lots of other indian restaurants! The staff were very friendly and attentive. definitely recommended!
A group of 24 of us went to Nazrul, Brick Lane on a Wednesday evening to celebrate my parents Wedding Anniversary. At first i didn't know what to expect as I booked over the phone last minute and was a slight nervous but the guys there made it a special and memorable night for all of us and everything went perfect for us. It could not have been any better and everyone is still talking about the night!!! These guys really know how to make a special night 'special'. Will definitely go back.
Check your bill! Sorry to say the new owners have made this a no go area. I've been going there for 25-years, and so sorry to revist last couple of times. Biggest problem is they actively overcharge. They give you a bill that's not itemised, and tried to charge me £60 for 3-people, when real bill was nearer £35. I don't usually check, but table next to us warned us. Last time I took guests I didn't check, and supprised how expensive it was, and now realise I should have. Food was still good, but with that culture I can't return to my my favorite Brick Lane restaurant, which is very sad. Can someone please recommend another 'Nazal' in Brick Lane.
nazrul is oldest restaurant on bricklane and it was one of the best restaurant i'v ever dinde in. the food was fiesh and they offer awide riage dishes.most of the dishes are in the £4.50 to £5.50 range so it's all pretty well priced. the staft are friendly and the was good and efficient. they remember you to bring your own alcohol as they are not fully licensed .
Without a doubt the best Indian Restaurant i have been to.
We ordered and got our food in good time and it was beautifully cooked. wonderful flavours!
Bring your own Drink goes down well too because you actually save on your meal. Excellent Prices and wonderful service.

Avoid at all costs even when enticed with a 25% discount, which they had to be reminded about at bill time.
Initial impression is good! Clean restaurant, good atmosphere, friendly and quick service, appetisers good too.
However, a couple of our party had massive reservations about the actual curry (watery and flavourless as well as tough meat in their opinion).
Bring it's cheap and you can bring your own booze.
Nazrul is perhaps the best Indian restaurant that I have tried in my life. The food was very tasty and the service was okay. Nazrul is not licensed but you can buy your alcoholic beverage in one of the stores in Brick Lane.
Nazrul was the worst food and eating experience I've had in dozens of visits to Brick Lane restaurants with cramped seating and jostling, surly waiters who had absolutely no knowledge of any of the dishes on the menu when asked for advice. Nazrul also have tasteless naan bread, uninspiring rice and watery and poorly spiced main dishes, almost devoid of meat. The dishes were almost dragged out of our hands before we had finished and we had to ask for the bill four times before it arrived - never again!
Nazrul serves possibly the worst curry ever. Terrible service, up there with Won Keys, with dishes being plucked from your grasp, half-eaten. All four dishes tasted identical, clearly all sauces from the same slop bucket. If you fancy a laugh, order the stuffed naan and try to work out what it is stuffed with (nothing whatsoever). So bad it deserves a round of applause.
Nazrul is a great introduction to Brick Lane food. The only place that didn't try to shill you from out in the street! They didn't need to. Great food and service in a full house. Coupons for 10% off at the corner wine shop were a plus. Worth the trip.
