With the large number of Chinese restaurants on Queensway, there is certainly good competition for the Four Seasons. However, there is always a queue going half way down the street outside this restaurant.

The Venue
The Four Seasons is conveniently located near Hyde Park, not far from Notting Hill, which is perhaps one reason why it is so popular. People come from all over London to dine here. The best way to get a table is to phone up ahead of time, then turn up to the restaurant and join the queue. This significantly cuts the waiting time down. If you turn up and put your name on the waiting list without phoning beforehand it definitely takes longer to be seated at this restaurant, where a table to yourself is like gold dust.

The Atmosphere
Bearing in mind how popular the Four Seasons is, the atmosphere is very busy and service is prompt, so you will not linger too long after eating your main course. Nevertheless you can still hear yourself talk, and meeting friends at the Four Seasons can be a very civilised and sophisticated way of spending an evening.

The decor is simple, with cream painted walls, contrasting lemon yellow tablecloths and green foliage growing alongside one wall.

The Food
This is the best restaurant in London for Chinese roast duck. You will not even find a restaurant in China Town that can beat it in that department. You can have a whole, a half or a portion of special roast duck Cantonese style and it's amazingly good value. Other dishes on the menu include things like the seafood dishes of sea bass and king prawns with ginger and spring onions. There is also a wide variety of vegetable and noodle dishes. For dessert there are a number of choices including traditional toffee banana or apple fritter and red bean pastry pancakes.

The Drink
There is a good wine list here and both the house white and the house red from France are good but not too expensive. Oriental beers and a selection of Chinese liqueres are also on offer.

The Last Word
All good things are worth waiting for and if you don't mind queueing a relatively short while for your table and you want to sample Chinese roast duck at its best then you should definitely try this popular restaurant.
