We went to the New Mayflower Chinese Restaurant last night and had a wonderful meal. We had soft shelled crab, then hot and sour soup and aromatic curry of chicken and spicy minced pork with bean curd. Our main course was not on the menu but was offered after a discussion. When I enquired about rice wine they brought me some to taste and after we had finished our main course they brought us a free dessert of sweet tapioca.

The food was good, the service was friendly and attentive and the bill was reasonable - £50.00 for the two of us including a bottle of wine.

New Mayflower Chinese Restaurant is, hands down, the worst restaurant I have ever been to in London. The food and service were absolutely appalling.

After a night's clubbing in the West End, my friend and I fancied a quick bite to eat in Chinatown. To our regret, we chose this place at random. The food was slow in coming and we had to ask about five times for our drinks. When the food was finally served, we were both disappointed by the quality. It didn't taste fresh or tasty. The chicken tasted like it had been lying in the pan all day.

When it came to paying, their chip and pin machine accepted my card but for some reason wouldn't accept my friend's card. Even though she said she'd happily go to a cash machine, the waiter ranted at us both loudly in front of the other diners. I stayed while she went to an ATM across the street. She wasn't gone for more than 3 minutes before the waiter shouted at me that she had just left. She then returned just at that point.

I tried to complain to the manager but he couldn't have cared less. I said I wasn't happy with the way his waiter had spoken to me and he just said It depends what kind of service you expect.

Avoid New Mayflower Chinese Restaurant! It spoilt what had been a good night out.

Despite seemingly having been on a diet for years, I think I have found out why I'm not losing any weight - New Mayflower Chinese Restaurant. It's not that the food's particularly unhealthy (and I always order boiled, not egg-fried rice), it's just that the portions are so bloody big I'm probably eating enough for three! Still, the New Mayflower Chinese Restaurant is my favourite, so I'm just gonna have to buy bigger pants.
