We went here for a birthday and I was extremely disappointed.

Firstly, only one floor was open. This was slightly disappointing. We had a table but we were still made to queue. Inside the club we were told we couldn't have beer at our table or in the VIP area. This was extremely disappointing considering we had paid for a table. If we wanted beer then we had to leave the area and go to the other bar. This meant leaving our table and the VIP area.

Most of the staff were polite, but the waitress who we asked beer from was extremely rude - looking down on us at our request.

The clientele was also interesting. There was no trouble but there were a lot of sun glasses and look at me types. Despite this everyone was there for a good time.

the place is still stuck in the slums. The Rudegirl door lady just lets in everyone...including obese girls and her Dizzee Rascal wannabe friends.
Go here for a night of R&B hiphop sweat and mixed with fat fighter rejects. Horrible place.

After reading review of this club, I was a bit worried about going there for a friend's birthday.

When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a nice looking venue with a clientele to be expected from a club of this type. While approaching the club and waiting to get in, many people pulled up in Range Rovers and other sports cars I haven't seen before.

Entrance was £20 which is pretty much the standard of all these type of clubs nowadays and didn't receive much hassle at the door considering I hadn't really made an effort (Jeans and Shirt).

Once we got in there was a long corridor and stairs leadong downstairs with a lounge kind of area on the ground floor with music playing at a low level, people mingling and going to the garden area for a smoke.

Proceeded downstirs to be greeted by some pretty commercial/ charty music. I requested the DJ play more House music and he did within 10 minutes. We were put on a promoters table where we were treated to two magnum bottles of vodka and a bottle of cristale at the end of the night.

I'm surprised by some of the other review here complaining about the standard of people at this place. No fights broke out and I mingled in the crowd quite easily without a problem or any pretenciousness as you usually find at this type of club.

We stayed there all night and left a bit after cosing time and there were no staff being too pushy trying to get us out. Even while waiting to get our jackets, people were still talking and I even got a girls number while waiting to get my jacket.

A decent night out in my opinion and will be coming here again. Definitely a place you can come to just meet some new people and dance to some decent music.

The worse experience of my life, I have been to many clubs in Central and have never experienced anything like it. A promoter which is also a friend arranged this venue. I was told to have a minimum of 15 people which I did for the guest-list. At first I approached the lady at the door to confirm we had arrived but was waiting for a few other people. She said it was fine and to wait by the side. Once everyone arrived I approached her again, she looked at my que and said we wasn't on the list. I was very confused I tried to talk but she kept talking over me and shouting say they didn't have capacity, etc. I was so upset as it was a b'day celebration and I had people make the effort and come from around London and out of London. When I called the promoter, he tried to find out what had happened. They said they didn't like look of our crowd. I was disgusted as everybody there were highly respected professionals, well dressed. The people going into the club looked 16, with fake tan and extensions. I couldn't believe the discrimination. However we went Mayfair in the end and had great time.

This is probably the worse 'members' club in London. Most people are now calling it No5 Chav-endish Square, because its cliental is disgusting, the food poor and over priced and the service from the staff bordering on disgraceful. Full of cheap young girls and wannabe gangster males, horrible atmosphere.

Anyone who says otherwise clearly works for the club or is a promotor of sorts to the nightclub. Its been gaining a reputation for a while as being a no-go area within London's club circuit.

no5 as a hotel was lovely, the food was great and the style was modern and nice, except for when the club opened at night, I have never seen or heard of such rude arrogant people in my life! It was disgusting how the bouncers on the door can be so rude and disrespectful when myself and a couple of friends have decided to go in for a couple of drinks! I think the attitude of the main ''head door man'' was shocking and disgusting! I would not recommend my friends and family to go to no5 and wouldn't myself, its such a shame how someone can put you of such a place. Horrible experience at the door and I don't think I would even return for the hotel!

I was at No 5 last night & had an awesome time with 2 girly mates & s guy friend. Read some of the bad reviews & had to defend No 5! If you want somewhere with decent cocktails, a good dj & enough space to dance, you could do a whole lot worse than No 5. Cocktails are incredible & I'm fussy about my cocktails - £12.50 is reasonable for Oxford Circus, esp given the quality. The dj played a mix of chart tunes & club, worked for me! Plenty of hot guys from the international set in the crowd but not sleazy, unlike certain other clubs (movida!) Yes, the girls are dressed like whores but so what? Does that really affect the enjoyment of your night? I was dressed in blue skinny jeans, biker boots & a jacket & they let me in for a tenner after 11 (the doorman initially asked for £20 but when my student friends ummed & aaahed over the cost, he reduced it to £10). So I certainly didn't experience any snobbery - lift man was v helpful, the bartenders attentive (one even gave me a free drink when another accidentally took my half-empty one away after I left it on the bar)& I don't think they're snobby about who they let in. I saw a really obese girl with a tragic face but she was dancing the night away & clearly didn't feel out of place! I'd def come back to No 5 on a Fri night after work. Given that I was initially supposed to go clubbing in Heaven but they were too snobby to let us in, I'm pretty happy with where we ended up :)

absolutely AWFUL! you'd think with how expensive it is you'd feel special once you're in there ? NO! £20 to get in... £10 glass of vodka, and full of trashy girls that are all wearing a Tshirt that's an excuse for a dress and cheap hair extensions. all WAG wannabes.
Staff are rude - they tell you where to go/stand/walk and breathe! Music wasn't anything special - I could've DJ'd better plugging my ipod in!
I'm all for west end clubs but there are much better places to spend your money than this pretentious dump! dont waste your time... seriously!

I went to the club at the venue last weekend and it was the worst experience I have ever had. Considering we had a table in the VIP lounge, we were moved from our table to another three times, only at the end to be told that as someone who turned up at the club paid £1000 for a table we had to share our table with someone else!

I found all the staff at the venue to be rude who lacked basic manners. The security was terrible, they pushed people around and when a physical fight broke out in the VIP lounge they refused to throw out the obvious instigator; my friend who had nothing to do with the fight was knocked down to the floor and hurt.

Most of the women there were dressed like they should be standing at street corners, had next to nothing on and often flashed bits that really should be kept away and strapped down. Taking into account this is a supposed 'exclusive club' I am surprised by the riff raff that is allowed in.

If you fancy a rough and pretentious night out with socially inept people do go to this place. A complete disgrace!

I went to this club last Saturday night with two girl friends of mine. I popped our names on the guest list and were able to get straight in. There's no doubt that it is a unique setting for a club with the grand sweeping staircase in the entrance hall and the open fires. The staff seemed relaxed and friendly but all in all the experience for us was slightly strange.

All the girls on that particular night looked like clones of each other. They all seemed to have long dark extensions, tiny dresses and slightly 'Katie Price on big night out' make-up. There was an interesting mix of men but it did feel rather like we had walked onto a set of a pop video that had a sort of 'glamorous brothel' theme. We were three sexy, slim ladies dressed to the nines but we felt we didn't fit the image. We left after one drink. Perhaps if we'd stayed it we would have felt differently - who knows! Definitely a good place for people-spotting but slightly bizarre on the night we went!

This is one of my favourite clubs in Central London! Bouncers are friendly, guests are not stuck up and best of all celebrities are always there! Girls are free as usual before a certain time, but last time I went there we arrived late and had to pay £20 entrance fee which I was pissed off about, however I ended up meeting the whole cast of Big Brother! Had a fantastic time! Music was pure quality, playing bashment, r&b and funky house (which most west end clubs never do). The club is huge, lots of space to dance and the men are not sleaze balls like most other clubs. I 100% recommend No. 5 to everyone, definitely one of the best clubs in London!

The restaurant as well as the club in my opinion is set in a beautiful setting, especially if you are tired of the clubs that are so small and crowded that u cant move in them, in here you will always have new places to discover ( restaurant, Bar, club, VIP area, whisky bar, library lounge, champagne bar etc. ) I always found the staff to be very polite to me, and the fact that they have to be rude to some people that think they own the place is their job. The fact that girls get a free entry before 11 is a given like in most of the posh clubs plus the drinks on your promoters table, the prices for cocktails are not that bad compared to the other clubs ( around 10 pounds compared to funky buddha 15) So i might say that i fell in love with this club ad became a regular :)

"No.5? More like just 'No'. Never again."(I quote - and only wish I had read before going and wasting not just money, but 2 hours of my life I will never get back). The luke warm 'cheese fondue' curdled even before it hit my stomach, washed down by rubbery veal drowned in bisto and seemingly a tesco value chocolate pud. The bread basket however, was quite a highlight. I must add, there was one saving factor- the comedy value of pure "velvet opulence" and the waitress' (stripper's?) hair extensions. Never again. Yes, it's a lovely setting, a wonderful building. When you walk in you feel special.

The doorfolk are polite, the entrance hall is something very different and you feel like you have the run of a house instead of the usual club experience of being shepherded down endless black corridors filled with drunken, sweating idiots.

This place feels like a set from Casino Royale and everything from the wallpaper to the grand stairway will make you feel like James Bond.

You can feel a "but" coming, can't you?It just can't shake off the trappings of clubland and that makes it feel like Holly Golightly - you can take a club out of Soho but you can't take Soho out of the club.

Girls go free, guys are £20. Already I feel like a mug - this doesn't happen in Dubai or Nice or New York and this club IS of that standard. Pity.

I can't complain about the crowd - a good responsible, well turned-out selection of people who know how to behave in a nice setting.

In a few places it looked like a casting bench for Abercrombie and Fitch crossed with a Givenchy advert.

It DID have a pinch of the "I wannabe upmarket" miniskirt crowd, followed by their "best Saturday shirt" Puff Daddy lookalikes, wearing the kind of gangsata scowl that looked outdated five years ago.

Here's the pain. The bar prices. 2 single G&Ts do NOT warrant £25 in the Burj Al Arab, let alone a stone's throw from Oxford Street. Number 5 - this is a great club - really it is.

Shake off the last of the Soho trappings, be confident in what you've achieved. You don't need the old tricks of empty reserved tables and overpriced drinks to make this place look exclusive.

If you want to spend an evening in Soho and not come home wanting a bath, go there. If you want to play "The Beckhams do The Riviera" without getting on a plane, go there.

With a few tweaks, this club would make you feel a million dollars, i

I went last night after being repeatedly recommended to go to No.5.

It was a big mistake, the music was horrific, crowd was lame and overpriced considering the standard of the club.

I left in 20 minutes. London has so many better clubs. I would rather go Funky Buddha, Movida or Jalouse. Never again!!!!!!

I need to say that I had the most amazing time at No. 5 on my 24th B'day a week ago. The dinner in the restaurant follow by drinks at the bar downstairs was great and then we moved to the new club which I must say has been refurbished to a very high standar. The staff of No.5 was very friendly and made us feel very very welcome. Thank you all for a fantastic night. Will be back soon

Had enough toptable points to earn us a free 3 course meal here. Restaurant Decor is like something out of a gentlemans club. Waiter was ok till he realised our meal was free with toptable, then be became uninterested. My starter of carpaccio of of beef was tasteless. Main of Rack of Lamb was average, as with choclate mousse dessert. WATCH OUT - they charge extra for all the side dishes that appear with the meal
We managed to spend £50 even without paying for any food! (£30 on a bottle of red, and not to sure what the rest went on) Bill would have been £150 without.
To sum up: Restaurant is very average. It was full of a pompus men with large cigars lying around, and blokes trying to impress blonde bimbo women. This was all emphasised when we walked out of the place and Joanna Guest was filming outside (I assume for men and motors or Nuts TV!). If you are after z class celeb hangout go here. If you are after a decent meal stay away

It was extremely expensive (£9.50 for a soco and lemonade) and quite pretentious and the music upstairs was a bit cheesy and old skool.

I was going to leave to go somewhere else when my friends and i walked past the stairs and heard music downstairs which i must say was alot better, rnb, club, funky house.

Once downstairs i did enjoy myself and had a good dance. I would recommend to someone with alot of money to spend on a night out and probably an older crowd say 25+.

No 5 is absolutely wonderful! I won the Cockney or Mockney competition where the prize was dinner and a stay at No. 5 Cavendish Square.

We were treated like royalty with the service and food being absolutely top drawer. Particular mention must go to the restaurant staff at No 5 who were attentive without being obtrusive. The food was divine, particularly the veal with foie gras and truffle.

A wonderful experience.

A friend suggested that I go to No 5 for a dinner date - a very good friend it turns out.

I had been to No 5 for a drink in the bar before (stunning waitresses) but had never eaten there. It's great for the colder months - it's a really warm feeling restaurant with a great menu and great staff.

I had the salmon followed by the corn fed chicken - so delicious! They also make the best Bloody Mary I have had in London!

No 5 is highly recommended. I am going back there for a company dinner on the back of it as they have a great little private dining room for about 30 people - should be a laugh!

No.5 is a gorgeous looking place. It is also very expensive. There is no way I would have paid to eat there, so it's a good job my boss took me! The food was good, and the service was very prompt, but the No.5 staff were a bit snobby and I felt that they were looking down their noses at me, as though I couldn't afford to pay for a meal there!

I visited No.5 for my birthday celebrations and the evening was booked a month in advance with the number of people and their names submitted. However, on the evening the management of No.5 turned my evening into a circus show! On arrival the lady I had visited a month in advance to arrange the details of the evening was not there and the staff had no details of my booking. The staff and management were extremly rude and the day after my birthday I learnt that some of my guests had been turned away. The staff were very unhelpful and very arrogant. I would not recommend that anybody waste their money on such an unprofessional establishment as No.5!

Went to No. 5 for a business meeting the other week and was really impressed. Having just gone freelance, I've been looking around at members bars for a good place to have the occasional lunchtime meeting. A former colleague suggested this place and it turned out to be fantastic. No. 5 has a really lovely atmosphere and friendly staff - the hardest part was trying not to get distracted by the very long wine list.
By all accounts the restaurant and club are divine as well - will definitely be heading back there soon.
