Very much a City venue so tempting as it might be on a summers evening over the weekend to head down there, its tricky to find and has a distinctly corporate account feel. Wife ordered the steak which was nicely portioned. I made the mistake ordering the lamb which came as a sliver and was consumed in 3 gulps. Rest of the meal consisted of me looking hungrily at wife's plate.
We had a fantastic meal at Northbank the other day.
Lovely food, really interesting wallpaper (trust me you have to see it) and great views over to the Tate and the Shard (what there is of it so far).
My wife, sister in law and I had 2 courses; lamb for me and risotto for the ladies, then cheese cake for my wife and rice pudding for the rest of us plus a nice bottle of La Croisade merlot.
The lamb was very succulent, the mash that came with it was great and my rice pudding tasted creamily indulgent.
My wife, not normally a risotto fan very much enjoyed hers and I'm told her cheese cake tasted as good as it looked.
Meal came in at £85 but we saved £30 with my View Card, so it ended up being £55.50 for three including tip.
Service was good, slight cock up with the booking otherwise I would have given a five.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
Critics...critical by nature and so the temptation is to be negative until persuaded otherwise, but I'm no critic...
This restaurant did nothing wrong in what was a lovely night, hence full marks. Everything that you should look for in a great restaurant was present and correct and it would be unfair to not award top points.
The atmosphere was lovely, just right. Not stuffy like you might get elsewhere when fine dining, but luxurious enough that you knew you were in a great establishment.
The staff were very friendly and escorted myself and fellow diner to a lovely table with some great views over the river.
The Menu had enough on offer to suit everyone and there were plenty of drinks to be had. The food itself was fantastic, portions were fair and well priced.
Good service was maintained throughout the night, and we were even given a complimentary glass of cava.
We were not once hurried nor left alone for too long, and fellow diners of mixed groups will have experienced the same.
If you want, lovely food, great service and views for a fair price, this venue offers just that. Excellent choice!
Enjoyed a really romantic meal here as part of a Valentines weekend in London. Staff very attentive and helpful, food delicious and the views over the Thames was fantastic.
Great view of the river and the food ain't to bad either!!
