Set in the leafy location of the St Marks Church grounds, the Oval Farmers Market provides a much need slice of life to the otherwise shop poor area. Bringing a weekly surply of unusual and exciting foodstuffs to locals and visitors alike, the feel at the market is hugely sociable and the place is always abuzz with anticipation over what
delights will be unveiled each week.
Popular with families and dog walkers, there are sure to be plenty of noses in the air sniffing the barbequing sausages. As Oval is famous for its eponymous cricket ground, there is a relaxed atmosphere to the area. Creating a buzz on match days, the world famous cricket attracts sporting types from all over the country. Consequently there plenty of cricketing fans to be seen around the station, which is not far from St Marks Church. A big hit with residents, the farmers market stands out for being the only one of its kind for many miles.
