What you can buy:
Fresh fruit and vegetables, pressed fruit juices, cakes and biscuits, relishes and sauces, olives and handmade pies.

Organic produce includes bread and local rare breed pork and sausages.

What to look out for:
Traditionally made cheese, salt marsh reared beef and lamb. Ready to eat food includes barbequed sausages, Somerset cheddar toasties, and handmade crepes. Arts and crafts sellers also regularly attend the market, along with Fairtrade clothing stalls.

Set in the leafy location of the St Marks Church grounds, the Oval Farmers Market provides a much need slice of life to the otherwise shop poor area. Bringing a weekly surply of unusual and exciting foodstuffs to locals and visitors alike, the feel at the market is hugely sociable and the place is always abuzz with anticipation over what delights will be unveiled each week.

Popular with families and dog walkers, there are sure to be plenty of noses in the air sniffing the barbequing sausages. As Oval is famous for its eponymous cricket ground, there is a relaxed atmosphere to the area. Creating a buzz on match days, the world famous cricket attracts sporting types from all over the country. Consequently there plenty of cricketing fans to be seen around the station, which is not far from St Marks Church. A big hit with residents, the farmers market stands out for being the only one of its kind for many miles. There is also a Fairtrade cafe on site, making it a great place for meeting up with friends while you browse.
