My meal here was, erm, not great. Why? The place is very much shut. I was there at 6.15pm, and according to this site it's open 5pm on Thursdays. Chalk boards all outside the pub/restaurant were blank, no opening times anywhere. Shame. Went to Hiba instead nearby in Borough High Street instead and had an excellent meal.
After three years of searching for a good asian restaurant in the area, I'm pleased to say that Pacific Kitchen has delivered. The food we had delivered last night was absolutely superb - full of flavour, beautifully cooked, piping hot (despite the delivery). The friendliness of the obviously wise man who delivered our food - explaining that the restaurant wasn't too far away and that if we had time, he would be very pleased to welcome us to the restaurant - was an added bonus. Without doubt - the best takeaway food I have eaten and we will certainly be heading to the restaurant very soon. Truly recommended.
In a pub on Harper St, a family is doing something very special. At the William, which from the outside appears a pub much like any other, they have set up a wonderful vietnamese dining room. The food is gorgeous, the service personal and heartfelt, and they will win you over from the first. I live no where near the area and I'll be back, i only hope that the locals pick up on it and make it the complete success it deserves to be. Best of Luck!
Although it took me an hour to find Pacific Kitchen it was well worth the trek. During my travels in Vietnam I met a girl from south London, she recommended this place called Pacific Kitchen saying I should go there if I should miss the food in Vietnam. Anyway I can say it was the best food I have ever had, better than any thing I have tried during my 6 months around the Far East. Pacific Kitchen is co-located in a pub called The William.
The Pacific Kitchen is a great addition to the area. I don't think you can find many places in London to beat the food at The Pacific Kitchen, maybe in Thailand, but not in London.
