The ViewLondon Review
Looking for something different? You won’t be disappointed with this award winning Polish restaurant.
The Venue
Situated on Goldhawk Road, a mere five minutes from Goldhawk Road tube station, The Patio is an easy restaurant to find and for anyone visiting for the first time the yellow awning is an easy spot.
Walking through the door you are immediately enveloped in its warm and invitingly intimate 1950s' style decoration which includes a piano and genuine family atmosphere. Although tables are closely spaced it just adds to the intimacy, with further dining space downstairs for private functions.
The Atmosphere
The menu is unashamedly Polish through and through. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff you can choose dishes you may never have heard of safe in the knowledge that you've been well advised. With easy listening music playing in the background, an immaculately clean dining space and candles gracing each and every table, you really do feel as though you’re tucked away in an Eastern European diner.
The Food
The food is where The Patio really scores points, with a set menu from as little as £10 (which includes a free flavoured vodka shot). The value for money here is extremely good and the portions are just right. Food includes smoked salmon and blini, white borscht (with egg and sausage), cod with Polish-style coleslaw and duck with pomegranate and orange sauce. Aside from the set menu, the set menu boasts over 15 dishes. The food is very rustic and makes a great introduction to Polish food.
The Drink
Polish beers are in ready supply alongside a nice selection of both red and white wines. A fully stocked bar with plenty of spirits is also on hand for the more discerning customer.
The Last Word
The Patio offers an authentic taste of Polish home cooking, with excellent prices and superb service.
