I've done my research on this venue and didn't expect the place to be overly clean or modern. Fair enough, that aside the attitude of the staff was not only rude but abysmal. While I'd love to give them compliments for their food (it really tasted well - the salad I had was even as good as my Babcia's) I've caught them gossiping about their guests, including our party of 5. They were making mean, belittling comments and when I turned around to face them, the female older kitchen lady (cook?) even commented on me making such a stupid face. I think it is not only unprofessional to behave like that in front of customers, but also despicable. Us, the guests, make their living. If it wasn't for their shit behaviour I might have even recommended the restaurant to my friends, because the food was good - despite the dirty venue.
But insulting their guests in front of them, assuming they wouldn't speak Polish, is not only dumb but disgusting.
Bad experience from the moment you walk in. Yes the atmosphere is great, but service is poor. Drinks were served in a dirty and chipped glass, bread was not complimentary and just placed on table with no mention. Service was slow and plates were not placed but thrown at us, often handed to us where we might as well go and serve ourselves. Non helpful waitress. Food was terrible, possibly much much better 25 years ago whilst establishing their business. Typical restaurant with good reputation overcoming customer satisfaction. Value of the meal was good but only if your after value and not quality. Food qualilty, Lets just say we didn't continue any furthur than half main course of our 4 course set menu, and once quietly and politely asking for the bill, we were confronted at infront of all customers. Worst restaurant in London, misleading reviews. For the price, Tatra down the road will get my vote.
My friend and I went to Patio by accident but are sure glad we did. The service was friendly, the prices affordable and the vodka scrummy. In the heart of Shepherds Bush, it's shrouded and hidden amongst the bustle of the local Aussie bar. When you find Patio you will have a fantastic time with beautiful and traditional Polish food. I'd recommend washing it down with a Zabrowka vodka and apple juice.
