I was in the Cafe just today and it really was the most unpleasant experience. What a shame that a new business in such a lovlely location should be staffed by people that are so unfriendly and so very very rude. The staff seem to be devoid of any social skills whatsoever and when i tried to speak to the wait staff i was told to go away as they were busy. Really shocking behaviour.

If you want a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, avoid this cafe at all costs. There are many lovely cafes and pubs in Dulwich village that offer a friendly dining experience, please choose one of these instead.

Covenient cafe if you have children and the coffee and cakes are good, albeit over priced (as is the rest of the food).

The toilets are a bit of a disgrace especially bearing in mind that young children are using them. I would recommend using the park's public toilets instead.

The staff are not particularly cheerful or helpful.

Beware the pigeons! They will attack your food as soon as you just look away from your table and don't expect to get any sympathy from the staff who will in fact put the blame on you as I recently discovered.....

The above rating was posted by a customer who got so cross that a pigeon had eaten her food she stormed off in disgust, despite us trying to offer her a replacement coffee!
But she is right - the pigeons are a problem and we do try to tell customers this. There are notices to this effect.
She told us she'd been coming for 5 years.. so I don't think the toilets could be that bad... would you return to a place continually for 5 years if you thought the toilets were so bad? I wouldn't...

I visited the cafe recently (Nov 09) and was appalled. The food was dreadful, I think my bacon had been cooked in the microwave as the fat was white & not a crispy morsal in site. My cappuccino had no froth, the salad was dressed in something resembling cough mixture.

The staff were unfriendly & there were notices everywhere telling you what you CANNOT do. It cost £14 for 2 of us. It's such a waste of what could be a very good business.
