I am a bit picky about sushi because I spent some time in Japan, but this place had great fish.
I had the sushi set for 9 quid, and it was a nice selection of popular sushi choices. The restaurant itself wasn't huge, but it was elegantly decorated and the service was quick.
They also had Asahi and Kirin beers sold in half-pints for 2.50.
The best sushi in town and Japanese food that I have tasted in london. Keep going back for more. It is a bit far from where I live, which is good otherwise would keep eating there everyday!
I have been to Pham several times and have never had a bad experience. The food is of an excellent quality.
Pham is great value for money and service is of a high standard.
The only negative is that it is very small and therefore occassionally cramped, the interior is quite basic as well - but these are not major problems and in a way all add to the experience.
Would definately order the rock shrimp tempura, the scallop sashmi plus the yellow tail jalapeno
I visit this place time and time again and consistently have great sashimi and sushi. It does come out to nearly £100 for 2 people including wine so is a tad expensive but for me its worth it. A little gem amongst the grey city walls!
Highly recommended restaurant. You should always book in advance for dining and it's worth doing this.
The restaurant is pretty small and usually busy everyday especially Friday. Sushi and sashimi are the best in London, you should try some hot dishes like chicken in teriyaki sauce and ebi shioyaki.
Service is quite good, of course we cannot expect a very professional service, they're all students. i definitely come back.
Me and my friends want to Pham sushi 2 days ago. I ordered some sushi and sashimi selection.
The waitress asked me about "how much I would spend on a head" and some particular requests. I absolutely was satisfied with chef's selection of sushi and sashimi. Fish is fresh and tasty.
I recommended you should try some crunchy tuna and dragon roll. Although, phamsushi is quite small but simple decoration and fine music make the comfortable atmosphere for customers.
I will come back some day. Highly recommended !!!
My fella and went to Pham Sushi last night for his birthday. He's a real sashimi fan so I was hoping for good things. The staff were sweet although a waitress who can't communicate because of her lack of English doesn't help a business in my opinion, a small gripe only.
Very nicely one of the waiters dashed across the road to the off licence buy the bottle of champagne we'd ordered as they didn't have one of their own! We had the Sashimi 4U option to start as I'd not eaten sashimi before.
For the £30 price tag I was rather underwhelmed at the amount we got on the plate. We asked for and were brought some top notch wasabi but the fish was bland and unexciting.
However, the main courses of smoked eel and beef teryaki were very good. We drank good green tea plus the champagne and, at my earlier request, were served a special birthday desert along with candles and even a quick burst of Happy Birthday from the waitress. I wouldn't book to go for a special occassion again but for good main course Japanese food I'd be happy to go back any day.
Pham Sushi:
Now, I was eating sushi long before it became some kind of 'fashion'. It irks me considerably that so many places have just popped up to capitalise on this fad. If you do want a trully authentic sushi bar then I'd advise you to try Pham Sushi. It's the best in London, in my humble opinion.
