Pho serves the winter food of your dreams - hot, filling, tasty and cheap.

The Venue
The front door goes straight into the open eating area - some tables are available in the back, although the restaurant fills up fast after opening time. Basic tables and chairs are comfy enough - you are here for the food though, not for the seating.

The Atmosphere
Pho is a no frills place but it’s well tended to by its owner and chefs so you always get a personal touch and friendly, quick service with a smile. Pho serves feel-good food and it is lovely to linger in as it feels like someone’s kitchen. A great place for a laid back first date - slurping noodles is a real icebreaker. This is also a perfect place to come with a crowd as you get to share a lot of the dishes.

The Food
Absolutely the star of the show. Anyone who has been to Pho cannot wait to go back. Noodles swim in a deep rich broth and you have your choice of beef, chicken, seafood, vegetables - name your combo. Make sure to try the lovely fillings in the Vietnamese baguette, a legacy of French occupation beautifully adapted for Vietnamese ingredients. Vermicelli rice noodles with hot marinated toppings and herbs and veggie spring rolls and peanuts are a delight - try the Nuoc Cham sauce on the side. Dieters can have the salad bowls, which have all the flavours you need without the noodles. The Banh Xeo Tom Ga crepe filled with prawns, chicken and beansprouts is delicious. Summer rolls filled with prawns are light and tasty. They also do takeaways if you don’t have time to grab a table.

The Drink
Lao and Hue beers satisfy, but it is up to you to try the weasel coffee - ask the helpful waiters who’ll give you the facts. Flower teas and raw juices as well as wine are also available.

The Last Word
When you need full flavours and a holiday experience in a bowl, head to Pho. Vietnamese street food never tasted better.
