Absolutely delicious menu, an extensive cocktail list (some of them sound like scientific experiments, so yum) and some of the friendliest staff I've come across. Great for after work drinks during the week, and amazing for dinner at any time! Apparently the menu changes quite often, so am keen to go back soon to see what the latest offerings might be...

I went to Platform last night. I'd read about it and took a stroll by as I know the area but can never find a decent place to eat. The opening night isn't until tonight so had a chance to try it out. It has an elegant yet modern twist to the decor - big stair case running up the middle of the downstairs/bar & seating area. Beautiful wooden bar with huge mirrors and the biggest mirror ball you have ever seen. Downstairs is more of a swanky cocktail bar with lovely little booths and high tables and upstairs, an intimate dinning area in the eaves of the archway. (Didn't hear or feel any trains at all!).
Menu is simple, fresh and hot off the farm. The butter is the best you'll ever taste! I started with the pork rillette (pate) in it's own little pot with smooth apple sauce and brown toast. My other half had the pea risotto - perfectly cooked and such a fresh taste. Good portions and would happily have the risotto as a main (which our lovely waiter informed us we could do). For main we went for the Coq au vin with mash and spring greens and Pork Pie with Fat chips. The pork pie came with perfect crackling, goose fat crispy chips and fluffy pastry. The coq au vin fell off the bone and you could taste the individual mushrooms, pancetta and onions perfectly in the rich sauce. But oh the mash! I'm not one to get dramatic but when you think of comfort food and creamy mash - this was the ultimate - I could happily have eaten a bowl full. Wine menu was complimentary to the food and service wonderful.
I'm so happy there is somewhere with good quality fresh, natural homemade food and wonderful atmosphere for a reasonable price in London Bridge! Very impressed. I just hope I can get a table next time.
Please go - you'll love it.
