My friend and I dined at Pulcinella last night. A truly mediocre experience. The linguine Frutti di mare ( baby clams-squids-mussels and prawns) were served without baby clams. I wasn't informed that they run out of baby clams and more prawns were added without my consent. When asked why I wasn't told none of the waitress seemed bothered on apologizing. Second pasta dish Farfalle al Salmone, was also changed as they didn't have salmon but we were told about it so no big fuzz. Please manager sort your stock out. When I asked them if we could move to the table outside to finish our dinner we were asked for a credit card, probably scared we would run away without paying. To show a bit of concern about this unprofessional and non-polite request I also asked two coffees, one tiramisu to be served once we finished our wine. Plus the bill. They served us two tiramisu ( I asked for one) the coffees without the bill. ? When our wine glasses were still full. When I complained about the service I was offered not to pay the service charge which was still on the bill when I paid. I paid the whole amount. At the end of the day. I've lost some money and didn't totally enjoy the dinner but they have lost two possible regular customers. It is a shame that restaurant like this have no respect for people, locals as I, since they know them business will still survive with tourists. Shameful!

Love this place and have been a number of times. Always consistent in terms of quality and always friendly in terms of service. Pizzas are in my humble opinion among the best in London and the friends I have been with who have had pasta etc. have all said how nice it was. To top it all, their prices are more than reasonable and their Peroni extremely cold. In summary Pulcinella is superb and I would thoroughly recommend to everyone.

Pulcinella is an ordinary Italian place. Nothing fancy – just simple Italian dishes and a relaxed atmosphere.
To me, Pulcinella sits happily between Pizza Express (at the bottom) and an actual Italian Trattoria (at the top).
