I took my friends to this restaurant on Saturday evening but it was a total disaster. Food was OK but staff was too pushy. I understand it was busy on a saturday evening but their behaviour was unacceptable. I have never seen something like this in any restaurant. I felt so much pressure and for a moment, I felt am I eating here for free? Staff was behaving like they are doing some favour by serving food to us. With in 5 mins, 5 different people came asking for desserts. We got so irritated and me and my friends decided to leave that place immediately. Would never ever go back again. Don't go there. It will ruin your evening.

Totally agree it ruined our evening. Staff was disgusting, food was awful and prices are like Cinnamon club!

Myself and my partner have frequented the Punjab nearly every time we visit London either for theatre or just lunchtime in between shopping trips.
The food is amazing and the Achari Chicken is delicious. There is never any problem with making the dishes spicier the service is excellent and friendly.
Ihave been to numerous indian restaurants in my time and this one takes some beating. In fact Im going again tonight before I go and see a musical. I recommend the King Prawn bhuna, the chicken achari and the pomegranate chicken. Bon apetite. Tracy and Mick

I'm surprised by the negative comments here, as a group of colleagues and I had a wonderful lunchtime meal at Punjab earlier this week.

I had Saag Gosht for my main course, which was absolutely delicious and the best I have ever had in London. But all the food we ordered was delicious, fresh and nicely presented. The service too was courteous and efficient.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Punjab to others and I plan to return soon!

I went for dinner in Punjab yesterday with a group of colleagues. We ordered a range of dishes from tandoori, bhuna, tikka to the briyanis. We didn't like any of them. The king prawn bhuna which I ordered was overcooked. For about £12 , I get only three prawns and they were overcooked!! That's over-priced and the size of the prawns wasn't big at all!

Then we had the chicken tikka and the potato with some mesh green vege. They were bland and artificial. I recall having a similar experience as buying ready meals from the frozen section of Tescos.

The poppadum and Mango Lassi were the only things I enjoyed. But these are not items which you need to fly people 6000miles to make them. At least, something nice I can speak about Punjab.

The staff were not polite but they were not overly rude either. When the place was crowded, facial expressions from the staff were unfriendly. They were obviously impatient while taking our orders as if they were paying us to be there! Even if they were, a smile wouldn't hurt.

The deco was nice but the seatings were cramped. As we went in a group, they shoved us into a corner with very limited leg room. I never thought I'd be given a Ryanair treatment in a supposed premium restaurant.

Nothing personal, but I certainly couldn't justify the bill that came out to be £30 per person based on the quality of the food and service. I think for the price we've paid, we could have gotten a much better deal elsewhere.

Would I recommend this place? No.

The impression from the outside is a better than average Indian restaurant. Sadly, the opposite is the case. Most of the staff are indifferent (one waiter dropped the appetiser dish on papers I was reading on the table without looking!). But the sad thing about this place is the dreadful food - bland, tasteless. We would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant.

I have been to Punjab Restaurant many many times over the last 5 years or so, I have to tell you its one of my all time favourites. From the wonderfully flavoursome but not overpoweringly spicy meat dishes to the exquisite vegetable side dishes I have never had anything from the Punjab Restaurant menu I didn’t like!

I have the confidence to try things here that I would always avoid at other restaurants; I had Acharri Murgha (pickled chicken) last night whilst my girlfriend had Anari Murga (pomegranate chicken) both of which were excellent. I think my favourite dish is probably Kadu Sabhji (pumpkin cooked with spices). As for the breads you will never have had Nan or Roti like it freshly cooked and a great accompaniment. I have always found the staff friendly and very knowledgeable.

This is simply the best Indian restaurant in the UK, and I’ve been to quite a lot and am not easily pleased!

I went to the Punjab Restaurant recently. It has amazingly unfriendly service and the staff were very aloof. My girlfriend and I were made to feel like that we were in the way and that it was too much hassle to serve us even though the restaurant was not busy.

Unfortunately the food was quite average as well, certainly for the high prices charged. I would not recommend it the Punjab Restaurant.

Punjab is a quite nice Indian restaurant. I’ve only eaten there once but I had a nice time.
I would recommend Punjab to other diners.
