I Came to Queviet with my friend last friday. it was a super busy night. The food were really good with real vietnamese taste. A lovely guy who served us was very nice and helpful. We all enjoyed the meal and will be back soon :)
I went to Que Viet, on the Recommendation of friends of mine, who were regulars and so for my birtehday arranged for A party of 12 to go there. I was very badly affected with what can only be Described as the worst 3 days of my life when the following day I suffered from bouts of diarhoea and vomiting. I have found that another member of our party suffered bad Stomach aches the next day. Our service was very good and we found the food very Tasty. However our evening was Further marred by the fact that on paying our bill, one of our party on paying noticed the kitchen door open and was astounded by the site of A very messy kitchen and what seemed like card board on the floor on which there were pots and pans. Altough the food is very Tasty and the Presentaion good. I will not be returning to the restaurant as I am not prepared to have the food I eat in pans left on the floor. Where is the health and hygiene in the place. It was A very bad experience for me and some of my friends were appalled by the information we got from another member of our party. Im sure that this is Maybe an off nigth for the place but I will never go back. Not A good experience. Libby B.
I had a really lovely experience at Que Viet and is definitely my favourite Vietnamese in Shoreditch (though I haven't been to them all)
Ok so first off my friends and I were really well looked after from the start - given warm towels at the beginning of the meal, checked on a number of times, and given free orange slices after we'd finished! We were really made to feel welcome.
The food was gorgeous - being a vegetarian I often find it hard in Vietnamese places, but I had delicious starters and a main. Can't wait to go again and try something else!
Ended up in Kingsland Road by chance. I never knew that there were so many Vietnamese restaurants here and my friend and I chose Que Viet.
We managed to get a table straight away even though it was very full. We chose the roll-yourself rice paper spring rolls to share for a starter. Amazing! Absolutely delicious. Our mains were also very good quality but for me less extraordinary (not ordinary but the rice paper rolls were hard to beat!).
I am an immediate convert to this style food. Highly recommended. When the bill came it was such good value. The service was excellent too.
I have now been to this restaurant about 5 or 6 times and each time I have had something different. The food is excellent and combined with the price, service and decor you can not ask for much more. Having not been to a Vietnamese restaurant before I moved to London I would probably say that it is now one of my favourite styles of food. Since visiting this restaurant for the first time I have also not had any call to go to any of their competitors although from previous visits prior to the discovery of this place, Que Viet definately tops the list. For the food, atmosphere and service and the price it comes at (just under £20 a head for a very good feed and drink) i can not give this anything else but 5 stars. Tip - if you don't know what to have or are trying Vietnamese for the first time just ask the staff for their recommendations as they will not advise you of what they are trying to get rid of in the kitchen but will give honest guidance.
Definitely worth a visit, very reasonable indeed!
