Having received some positive feedback regarding the quality of food at Raan, my partner and I decided to head over to the O2 after seeing a film at Greenwich Filmworks.
Unlike the thousands of families there to see "High School Musical" we were simply going for dinner on the strength of press coverage regarding the many new resaturants that had opened.
Unsurprisingly with so many young families that night it was Nandos and Pizza Express who were enjoying most of the business, post show and Raan was understandably quiet.
However that did not prepare me for the greeting I recived at 8.30pm on Friday when I was told by the guy at the desk "We are thinking of closing early actually".
"Thinking about it or are actually closed?" I sarcastically replied.
"Closed" was the response.
Just how Raan expect to build a loyal following during these early stages is beyond me. Are they hoping only to make money when the demographic for the shows fits with theirs?
Are they committed to making the O2 a destination restaurant venue in it's own right?
It seems not. Either way I am unlikely to return to the O2 for dinner and if I do I shall certainly not be returning to Raan.

How do they make that flavour....its extraordinary, I loved the grilled meats, totally sublime, I have eaten such food only in India and I have to say to have such a quality establishment in the O2 is wonderful......I will go back....please open a Raan in town!
