West End, Friday Lunchtime - empty. The reserved sign on our table looked a little forlorn. Despite the variety of dishes on the menu a number were off the menu. The waitress couldn't understand spoken English and referred to the manager with every question. Simple questions such as "What is the soup of th day?" answered with "20 minutes" made it seem like a mediterranean fawlty towers. The decor reminded me of a similar era!
When the food came it was quite nice, but no way matched the descriptions on the printed menu - the salmon came without the mushrooms, which on prompting were produced - why make it so difficult for a customer? However presentation was good and the food was edible.

Not star quality, edible and ok. Not sure I'd go back again though. A few people walked in and then out again - Good luck to them and hope they have a recession beating plan - currently their offering is unlikely to beat it. Would not recommend as plenty of better choices.

Good job we were the only people there.

Went to the Red Onion a few weeks ago and was really impressed. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the food extremely tasty.

The prices at the Red Onion are fairly reasonable too - a great place to get good food on a budget.
