Went to Red with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and when the g/f lost her purse, the staff were really helpful in doing a quick sweep of the premises. it was located on the floor almost camoflaged. this was pretty early on the evening so perhaps later in the evening we may not have got such attention (and believe me it gets busy) but we were very grateful and able to enjoy the rest of our evening. drinks were averaged priced for the area and there was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to the place.
I wasn't impressed with this bar, don't get me wrong it's very trendy and feels like 'the place to be' - but it was full to the brim and I had to ditch my friends (it was my Miss's b/day party). The bouncer stuck to his word and let me and one of my friends through the back and he was a nice bloke. Same goes for most of the staff actually cool, friendly and helpful. The cloakroom girl could smile a bit more though! The drinks are horrendously overpriced but that’s what you get with a back-street west end bar. It's a bit cramped but wasn't uncomfortable though as the door staff were strict on the capacity limit. The women were stunning but unfortunately didn't share a brain cell between them. Go to this place with good company and get there early so you can get in and enjoy the funky music, wicked red decor and eye candy. If you’re buying rounds, expect to have a nice dent in your bank balance after the night is done!
Red is an unpretenious bar with good service and management that seeks to look after their clients. Our waitress ensured we had a good time and our requests were met on time and with a friendly smile. The drinks are reasonably priced for the type of venue Red is, but it could do with better decor.
Red rocks. As an American would say, Red is awesome man!
Red would be, without doubt, be the coolest bar I have ever been to.
Red is terrible. I have never experienced such awful service and reception ever before! I don't mind pretentious or smarmy, but I do mind down right rude.
I went there for a drink on my birthday with a group of well dressed and sober friends and we were made to feel like soccer hooligans. Red wasn't even busy. Never ever again.
We went for a girly night out at Red the other weekend and we all had a very good time. Followed by a very bad Sunday as we all had hangovers from the amazing cocktails.
My friend fancied the barman and so she kept going back to him to get him to make us more drinks. I can't remember what they were called, but they were so yummy, so we all got hammered! Red is fab. I can't wait til we can all go back.
I went to Red last night and was so disappointed with the 'greeting' we received from the doorman. I don't think I have ever met anyone so rude. Do yourself a favour, avoid Red and go down the road to Digress.
I have been to Red on numerous occasions and I have never been let down by the service from either the bar or door staff. An exceptional venue with an exceptional cocktail list.
Upon my last visit to Red, my friend Matt and I stayed a couple hours longer than we intended to (which may or may not have had something to do with the very attractive girl working behind the bar). Good work Red!
I have to say that I was very impressed by Red. It's a great late bar to know about, just off the main Regent Street strip.
Red is glamorous without being stuck up, they have really nice seating areas and Red barmen certainly know how to mix a mean cocktail.
Not a fan of Bar Red at all. The drinks, food and atmosphere all leave a lot to be desired.
Won't be going back to Bar Red.
Red strikes me as more of a bar than a restaurant. They serve a few nice Japanese dishes but if you're looking for a proper meal out you might want to go elsewhere.
Having said that, I do enjoy evenings at Red with my friends - it's a nice place.
I recently had a drink in Red on a Saturday night after reading other reviews for this bar on this website and planning a night out.
The reception from the doorman at Red was one of I wouldn't normally let you in because there are five guys, but I'll do you a favour just this one time.
I can understand a no male group attitude in some cases, but so early on a Saturday night, with older people and a bar that's not even half full, makes no sense.
This incident almost ruined our night before it had even begun, and left us feeling like we were teenagers who'd tried to get into a local pub!
Simply well done Red and keep it up.
I've been going to Red for a couple of years now, and i've always had a good night there. A new cocktail list was introduced about 6 months ago and it really is unbelievable. Wittily written and definitely enticing, my friends and I are slowly working our way through the list. Dave and Stuart are our favourite bartenders, always friendly and giving us a laugh. It makes such a difference to be around people who genuinely know what they're doing and enjoy it at the same time. My favourite at the moment is Stuart's cocktail called Pandam but that could change over our next visits! Definitely a place to enjoy.
Red offers service that I have never experienced in London. On arrival we were actually seated and then, throughout the night, were treated to waitress service. Amazing! This meant my friends and I could sit and catch-up without stopping every half an hour to get another round in. Instead we just enjoyed fantastic cocktails, in a subdued and relaxing ambiance, from the comfort of our own booth. Perfect for drinks after work.
From the minute I walked into Red, I received nothing but top class service. The staff were extremely friendly and both the food and drinks were superb. I definitely would visit there again and again. Well done Red.
