The ViewLondon Review
RimZim is an Indian restaurant situated close to the entrance to Wembley Arena, that also welcomes non-dining drinkers to its bar.
The Venue
There’s no doubt that RimZim is retina-scorching, but not in your stereotypical Indian restaurant way. Everything about RimZim is high tech and showy, from its flatscreen TVs with boisterous Bollywood videos, to its snazzy red and black chairs. Everywhere, there’s a neon-like glow. Even the toilets are like something out of Saturday Night Fever, with the urinals offering a multi-coloured lights show that's so over the top it's hilarious.
The Atmosphere
Catering to a predominately Asian crowd, for sure, but very pleased to see some non-regulars pull up a seat at the bar. It doesn’t seem to have much of the pre-Wembley crowd but it would undoubtedly be ideal for a quick pint before a game or show.
The Food
The menu is a monster and includes a huge list of 50-plus dishes, from tandoori butter chicken (£7.95) and Goan fish curry (£8.45) to Arabic hummus salads (£2.95), with the idea you mix and match a number of choices with your friends from the middle of the restaurant’s sizeable dining tables.
The Drink
Pints of Cobra are not only the order of the day, but they are nice and cheap at £3.25 a pop. As well as Cobra there’s a smattering of beers and cider on tap, and soft drinks (a J20 costs the standard £2), but cocktails are certainly something they put a lot of thought into. There’s also a massive array of spirits from Aftershock to Teachers to choose from.
The Last Word
Snazzy décor, cheap-ish drinks, a friendly welcome and a massive menu – RimZim is a good option for locals and those heading to Wembley for a match or gig.
