New chefs, new menu, finally got rid of the Thai kitchen and is serving proper British pub food. Been going to the Ring for years & this has made it soooo much better. The burgers are great, small & simple menu but all apparently made using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The pies are really good & they have started doing a Sunday Roast too which I'm going to try for sure next time I'm in the City on a weekend, if it's as good as the rest of the menu then I'm sure I will be a very happy bunny
After waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR FOOD... we decided to cancel. Not even worth the 1 star, but i can't go lower in the ratings unfortunately
Think this pub must have had a major staff overhaul since some of the last reviews. There were two bar staff on when I visited and they were both very pleasant and fast. The pub is in an ideal spot right opposite Southwark station so great when I eventually head home. The Thai food is still ordered separately from the bar but there are waitresses dotted about so it's been easy to flag one down and order. Lovely pub, is rapidly becoming my post-work local
As a regular customer of this pub over the years I can honestly say I’ve been so happy to see you employing a new staffs who are welcoming and accommodating. I have often felt like complaining to the management about your polish barman who always miserable as sin, he treated you bad and unpleasant like you are imposing on him by ordering a drink, as well as if you wrongly want to order food with him, he will look down on you in his eye and said just a word ‘waitress’ and then turned his back on you, but can tell by everyone’s attitude that it would fall on deaf ears. It is a shame that what used to be considered a lovely pub is being thoroughly spoilt by a handful of unskilled and uncaring people.
the best pub in the area, quite small but it had the best atmoshere and was packed and buzzing, with plates of mouth watering food served by gorgeous and very friendly waitresses. the toilet was a bit on the small side
Ring is an excellent pub with a great crowd of people whilst the bar staff are fantastic and pour a tasty Guinness. The Ring also does awesome Thai food, really tasty, I recommend the thai green curry - yum!!
