It is good to see that everyone seems to rate River Spice as highly as we do. We have become regulars there and cannot praise it highly enough. The service is always first class and the food superb, with some classic dishes, and some new, but always well presented and full of flavour.


River Spice is by far the best Indian in London in my experience and is well worth the short hop instead of going to Brick Lane.

Having lived in East London for a few years I had got tired of Indian food, but I was persuaded to visit River Spice in Wapping and I’m glad I went. The food was superb and the menu extensive. It's going to take quite a few visits to River Spice to work my way through the menu but that’s what I intend to do!

River Spice was superb. Truly delicious, home made, fresh, tender and tasty dishes minus the whacky colours normally associated with your normal Indian. Fantastic, friendly, prompt service complete with 'customer comments card' with prize draw entry on the table permitting customer feedback.



Clean and welcoming decor and ambience, great wine list and menu, fantastic value for money especially when compared to other (Indian) restaurants not and smoke free. Good level of occupancy on a weeknight despite seemingly 'out of the way' location.



Can not recommend River Spice enough and was so impressed with the guts to go smoke free which could prove risky for a small establishment. I will definitely go again and again.

River Spice is one of THE best Indian restaurants in the East London area - and I do not say that lightly.

Don't expect food in bright "Indian colours" (you know, VERY garishly E numbered. Everything in River Spice is done naturally and authentically. Each dish uses exceptional ingredients (and I once had Bombay Potato with tinned (!) potatoes) that are fresh and perfectly prepared.

I can not say enough about this place. Don't settle for rubbish Indian takeaway. Try this place and you'll never go back.
