We had our wedding reception at the River Lounge on the 6th of May 2011. To find somewhere in central London that wasn't ridiculously expensive was proving unbelievably difficult. We were beginning to despair when we stumbled upon the River Lounge, which initially we thought was too good to be true.

The venue held a maximum of 70 (seated), which was ideal for our party of 60. It is situated in a particularly beautiful location overlooking St. Katherine's Docks and with views of Tower Bridge from the outside area. The management had recently changed and despite some aging negative reviews on the internet, we thought we would give it a chance. We were given the opportunity to try a sample menu. The straightforward and relatively simple modern Italian food was extremely good, so much so that we really doubted they would be able to replicate it on our day. How wrong we were.

On the day we managed to fit a small acoustic jazz four piece into a small area on one side of the floor, the view of St. Katherine's docks framing the band as they played on a perfect late Spring/early Summers evening.

The staff at the Riverlounge were extremely well organised, polite, efficient and worked exceptionally hard on the day to ensure that everything ran smoothly. It did however take 3 hours instead of 2 for the wedding breakfast , so with hindsight the timing could have been better.

Yessika, the Events Director, was exceptional in her attentiveness and showed a genuine desire to make sure that our day went perfectly. The River Lounge proved to be very flexible in providing a children's menu that was served at the same time as the rest of the food.

Overall we were extremely satisfied with our day and will look back on it with fond memories.

We booked Riverlounge Italian for 35 people celebrating a weekend in London for our outgoing Rotary president, Yessica who arranged everything did a superb job! We took the restaurant over and the food, service and staff were fantastic! The setting is wonderful would thoroughly recommend it!

Overlooking St. Katherines Dock with the boats in the harbour gave you a truly memorable dining experience. Me and my partner went to try this newly refurbished restaurant out. It is really well located in St. Katherine's dock and has amazing views over the dock. The menu was limited but it was the winter one as advised and will soon get a new extended one for the summer. The service was excellent and got looked after very well. The only thing this restaurant could work on is a lift as it only has stairs access. I am definitely coming back to try out the new menu.

I agree with the review below. I am a resident of St katharine's dock and have been dining at these premises for a few years and it has changed a few times. The food here has always been reasonably good for the price. Since the re-launch the place is considerably better. It looks amazing and has a really warm feel to it. The food is fresh, authentic and very tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive without being all over you.

This has become my favourite restaurant in the dock and I would recommend it to anyone! Well done Riverlounge Italian

I went for dinner few weeks ago. I'm always looking for different places to eat with my partner on weekends. I have to say that we were absolutely surprise with the view of this venue., it's beautiful!! The food was fantastic. I had the Rib Eye Steak and my partner had a Risotto. We both were really pleased with the quality of the food and the service.
We definitely recommend it!

I had a lunch meal the other month, and I the food was above excellent, very delicious, good service, great views over the dock, had a great bottle of red wine, full body, in the end we had to have another bottle as the heavens opened! I dine hear a couple years a go, and it was OK, but now much better, something has changed!

Awful service, bland food and a big bill! It will take more than a name change to sort Riverlounge Italian out. I should have heeded the other terrible reviews Riverlounge Italian has online. Interestingly they have been removed from this site though?
