this place was booked for my birthday , and im so sorry my partner wasted her time , the food was awfel , we had the sunday lunch , starters lukewarm soup and cold fish , and the mains were just as bad , only person who was so-so was my son who had a burger , staff were so-so , but apart from the over the top prices was to charge 12.5% service charge?? never will i go here again .

Although the food was generally of a high standard at the Rivington Grill, the service was appalling. The response to my question about an appropriate vegetable to go with my main course of duck was a dismissive shrug of the shoulders. We asked for sparkling water and were brought still. The wine we ordered was substituted for a substantially more expensive bottle and we left as soon as we felt able, abandoning all thoughts of pudding or coffee.

There are other places to eat in East London than the Rivington Grill - try them first.

Been to Rivington Grill many times before and the food and service has generally been good. However, upon my last visit for Sunday lunch the service was very poor (especially considering the restaurant was almost empty)and a charge of £9 for an extra portion of roast potatoes was daylight robbery. The prices have gone up since I started going, with the service going the opposite way. It's a shame because this can be a great venue, and having recomended friends to go there in the past I'd have a hard time doing that after my last visit. Let's hope it was a one off, otherwise they may lose a loyal cutomer !

What a let down. Went as a party of 7 on a Saturday night. Great looking place but the food and service were both v poor. The barman forgot part of our drinks order, the waiter was surly and over worked and the food mediocre at best. For £70 per head I expected a lot more. We won't be going back as there are a million better places in London. Maybe they were having an off night but take my advice and give it a wide berth.
