Rock Garden looks good and in a great location but we considered the food overpriced and mediocre. Most offputting was the visit to the loos - the wooden floor upstairs near the kitchens was greasy and disgusting and the ladies not much to write home about either. The only thing we enjoyed at Rock Garden was the chips !

On Friday evening Rock Garden was the only place we could find that did not have a wait for tables. That should have been a clue.

We were not expecting top class food so were not really disappointed. It was the service which really let Rock Garden down.

We ordered drinks only to have the waiter return to say they had run out of my choice of bourbon. i asked what alternatives they had and he had to leave again to find out. When our drinks arrived the had one soggy cube of ice in a 12oz glass dispite asking for them to be packed.

My friend ordered cod and i orderd the tuna which i asked to be seared. The waiter did not understand so i explained that it should be only cooked on the very outside... very rare.

Our food arrived. My tuna was cooked well done. My friends cod was a cheese burger. He told the waiter he ordered cod and the waiter told him that they had no cod. He did came back with a menu and said to choose something else. rather than not eat together he took the burger which was average.
We were not charged for the burger but only because my friend asked to see the manger when the bill arrived. I was not happy with the 15% service charge as neither my food nor drinks were as ordered but they refused to remove this.

The food is average and was expected so however the poor service offered by the waiter cause every problem above. Stay away from the spainsh waiter!!

My second visit at the Rock Garden restaurant was as mediocre as the first one, even if the food could be worse. But the 'creme' comes downstairs for after diner drinks. A pathetic so called VIP bar offering a decent selection of spirits for that kind of place, crowd there is nearly as trendy as a high school party. That will give you an overall picture of the place. For a great drink in town, try the Langley in Langley street, nice, clean and well crowded...

I heard the Rock Garden had acquired a new chef, having tempted him away from Mezzo's, and as the most delicious meal I've ever had was served in Mezzo's I was keen to try it. I was not disappointed.

We went to Rock Garden as part of a dinner/show package. Since the whole thing was coming at £25 I wasn't expecting great things, but I should have! My chicken breast was perfect, down to the juiciness of the meat and the crispiness of the skin, and the mustard sauce was mouth-watering - I don't even like mustard!

My partner's fish was so good that it's all he talks about, not the play and the fact that it had everyone rolling around in their seats, oh no, it was the salted codling he remembers! Dessert was a bit of a letdown though; we ordered ice cream and it was bland, with chunks of ice in it, I think it was Wall's or something but a bit disappointing after the main course.

The service was a bit haywire - first they brought us dessert before mains, then brought three main courses instead of two, then got all confused about who was having what flavour ice cream. However, it didn't spoil what was essentially a fabulous meal. For £25, I'd say the package was well worth it.

Hmm, Rock Garden. Forget the name. Or at least don't let it put you off. The food is magnificent and the service is top notch. Plus you have a great view of Convent Garden.

Had lunch today at the Rock Garden, bit pricy but it is Covent Garden after all, however, the food was 1st class.

Only complaint was they could not get our outside heater working and there seemed to be no attempt to apologise for this.

I would go again so it can't be all bad!

On first impressions I though this would be a tourist-trap hell-hole. I was pleasantly surprised. Get there early and reserve a seat outside under the heaters and watch the world go by.
