Rodizo Rico is not one for salad lovers. Loosen that belt buckle and get ready to sink your teeth into a feast.

The Venue
Rodizio Rico is a Brazilian grill restaurant where you’re sure roll out of a few kilos heavier as you gorge yourself on grilled meat. A rustic and authentic-looking design includes brick walls and wooden features with the floors, tables and doors all complementing the open-planned grill to give the place a homely feel. The word rodizio means rotating, a concept that you’ll understand once you see the shelves of skewered meat cooking in front of you.

The Atmosphere
Full of groups of families and friends, Rodizio Rico attracts people who love to eat, so expect it to be busy. There’s an easy, breezy vibe as though you’re visiting a friend’s house for a barbeque but no one has to do the cooking or cleaning up.

The Food
A carnivore’s delight, for around £20 you can fill up on some of the best cooked, smoky, prime cuts of meat. The waiters will come around regularly with meat on a skewer which will be carved off right in front of you and straight onto your plate until you say stop. Meat includes beef, pork, chicken and chicken hearts and all of it is cooked to utter barbeque perfection. The meat is succulent, tender and tasty and the variety means you could quite easily sit there all day if you were allowed to (they do lunch and dinner sittings). The grill is accompanied by a buffet salad bar, which has rice, lasagna and potato wedges. Steer clear of the potato salad as it is far too salty and the bean salad is flavourless and bland.

The Drink
It’s way too easy to get carried away with jugs of sangria, but at £20 a pop, it’s not all that cheap. The rest of the drinks menu is extensive with a long list of wines and even some cocktails, where almost of all them have a beachy and summery feel to them. Beer drinkers can throw back a choice of San Miguel, Brahma and Becks, along with a few more less familiar brands.

The Last Word
A feast of monotonous proportions awaits you. Go armed with an empty stomach and you will still walk out defeated.
