I hadnt heard of this restaurant, but i had a quick drink after work in canary wharf with my girlfriend and she wanted to go. We had the £50 tasting menu which i though was good but not great. I had one caraf of wine and my girlfriend didnt drink alcohol but had a green tea. When the bill came it didnt mention the £50 set fee but came to £235. Had a unpleasant experience with the waiter trying to resolve this and then had a to wait a long time for the general manager who reduced the bill slightly and made out like he had done us a great favour. Eventually paid the right price £140 still an expensive meal and had a very bad evening..! Not how a quality restaurant staff should behave. There is no way the waiter could have mistaken the order as it was extremely clear. Take care if you go here.

Roka Canary Wharf pales in comparison to the service at Roka Charlotte Street.

Went there for the Sunday Buffet and I was cornered by the "General Manager" who told me I was on the ban list because the last time I was there for the Sunday buffet, my table was, as she put it, very "rowdy"! She said we had made a mess of the buffet which was not the case at all! It was all because we asked for a last round of drinks before they closed.

Today, there was a table who was making much more noise than the last time I was there and yet they seemed to be fed with more alcohol than us. Would not be bothered to go back to Roka Canary Wharf for the buffet because the food is just rubbish having had it for the second time. If you want, just go there and abuse their free flow of alcohol.

Hope Roka Canary Wharf decides to send their managers for a proper management programme as they are just so unprofessional!

By only going on Sunday for the 'free flow' of alcohol and cheap buffet, you're really missing out on what Roka has to offer. I've always had a great experience and the food is some of the best I've had. Yes, it's pricey but very well worth it. I suppose, however, if I'd gone on a Sunday and paid the £42 for an unlimited amount of alcohol and copious amounts of food I may not have had the same experience - I guess you get what you pay for. Too bad you've been banned or else you could try a proper experience at Roka, but I suppose that might be too expensive for you.
Also, I'm very thankful that the Roka staff are quite strict with drunk and rowdy guests because when I'm enjoying a meal (quite pricey meal at that) I don't particularly enjoy being bothered by drunken disorderliness.
Overall, I'd say that Roka is one of the best restaurants I've dined in hence my continued patronage.

Had dinner on Friday with a friend there. Superb!

We dined on the terrace (lovely surprise as I anticipated eating in the restaurant). The service was flawless & the waiter knew everything about the menu & the flavours of dishes. He also assisted in our wine choice. My friend is Japanese (as was the waiter) & with their expertise, I feasted on an authentic & delightful meal of sashimi, nigri, gyoza (yummm) & robata.

The items we had weren't particularly pricey but there are some more expensive options on that menu so take care. The plum wine we had was a sip of heaven & highly recommend that.

Ooh, wish I had some of that meal right now! I suggest you get down to Roka now!
