Had the best pasta EVER and mouth watering tiramisu at Rossodisera last night!
I use to love this place and be a regular customer, but lately it has become worse and worse: I went there for dinner and brought some colleagues with me, and the pasta dishes were either too salty to even taste anything or too bland. I haven't said I am italian so I know what is a good pasta, and they did too before but not anymore! Also, the portions got MUCH smaller (not even half of what a dish was before)…I understand economy crises, but the crises is also for the clients since the prices didn't decrease like the dishes but became more expensive!
Also, in Italy it is normal to offer a Limoncello or something a the end of a dinner for regular customers (and I did bring lots of other customers to this restaurant among friends and colleagues), but they never offered anything. That is not a fault of the restaurant, just something I noticed and didn't like from an Italian prospective.
Overall, I rate this restaurant to low standards now because of the food, the small dishes and it is expensive. Sorry, you used to be my favourite!
The most beautiful Christmas party of my life I spent in the ROSSODISERA, a restaurant in central London, welcoming and wonderful. But belonging to the aesthetics of the strong point is the food, the cuisine of the Marche makes you want to try all the dishes. All accompanied by fine wines. Chosen with quality.I found the staff polite and friendly, always available. And to make matters worse, I was mildly from the value for money. In short, definitely a restaurant to try.
We stumbled upon this little place quite late on and thought it looked very sweet and would give it a go. We were greeted with quite a frosty reception but it looked nice so we sat down.
The staff were very sweet even though language was a little bit of a barrier. The menu was limited but there was something for everybody on there.
Pleased with our choice, we both ordered the chicken breast with mushrooms at £10 each. We were told it didn't come with anything so we asked for some vegetables with it. It arrived and it was a strange looking chicken breast cut in two with 3 wafer thin slices of mushroom on top. The vegetables were a small bowl of potatoes.
It didn't look great but was hungry so dived in. The chicken had clearly come from the freezer and was a very bizarre texture. Almost processed like. The sauce was bland and the mushrooms were practically non existent. The potatoes had clearly been re-fried several times and were completely inedible. My friend carried on eating the chicken as she was so hungry but I had to stop after 2 mouthfuls.
Neither my friend or I have ever complained at a restaurant before but when we were asked how our food was, we fessed up and said it wasn't great. I was offered a replacement but turned it down as the issue was poor quality of ingredients and complete lack of value for money. The staff then just avoided our table until we gave up and asked for the bill. There was no apology, no anything....only the service charge removed (!)
This is a tourist area and as somebody who lives in london, I accept that I should know better. It also may be a one off but this was honestly the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant EVER and won't be returning. London is a great city with so many great places to eat that are great value for money. Restaurants in tourist areas should be trying harder to please tourists with great food than trying to give them minimum standards.
I had a lunch at Rosso di Sera today and I have to say that I relished my meal. The place is warm and the staff fuss over you.
Hello everyone, I organized a dinner in this restaurant with my friends, we spent a fantastic evening! The atmosphere was really friendly was like being at home. We ate cured meats and cheeses served with honey and jam, all from Italy! We drank an excellent red wine. I advise everyone to spend an evening at rossodisera but you must to book becouse it's really small.
Good salumi, shame about the staff who left me in no doubt that i annoyed them. And my piadina never arrived.
Hello! I think it's an authentic Italian restaurant "Rossodisera".
The foods is delicious!
I'm Italian and I want to thank "Rossodisera" for giving me a corner of Italy in London.
Terrible Restaurant. Don't know what the cafe is like. But, terrible restaurant.
This is the first time I've reviewed a restaurant online. I couldn't sit around and let this one slide. Worst service I've ever had, took hours for our main to arrive. Incredibly high prices, small portions. Rude staff.
One of the worst dining experiences I've had. Need I say more?
the most authentic Italian place in London, real gorgeous Italian food and wines, lovely staff, very fair prices, cosy place, me being Italian feels just at home when having dinner here with my friends!
Rossodisera means "red in the evening" and comes from the Italian version of the expression "red sky at night, shepherds delight....
Well, I'm no shepherd, but as an anglo-italian, this little gem of a place gives me a delightful and authentic taste of Italy every day, both with their great coffee and pastries (at unusually reasonable prices), their handmade panini at the counter, and their delicious food downstairs - try the orechiette with broccoli, their chitarrina pasta all'amatriciana, or their pecorino cheeses and speck ham platter, accompanied by a glass of wine from their wonderful little cellar...
The 3 shepherds are Gianluca, Igor and Samuele, who come from the Marche region in the North East of Italy, and the lovely Dora is the jewell-in-the-kitchen...
The best Italian restaurant in London! Quality and genuine home-made food, great atmosphere, helpful staff, covenient location, excellent value for money. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a real Italian experience in London.
