My best pal and I met in London for a night and as she had travelled in South America and I learnt to cook at a brilliant Mexican restaurant and now live in Devon where good ethnic food of ANY kind is hard to find I settled on Sabor. We were not disappointed. The service was immediately friendly, informed and relaxed and the food was simply outstanding. We started with cocktails - I had amor ardiente (hot love!) which was Brazilian blackberries, Columbian firewater , sugar syrup and lime over ice --- WOW! Now I have done a leeeetle bit of drinking in my time but this was something very special. Ems had pineapple and ginger vodka martini which was also very good ( but not as good as mine!). To start we ate quesadilla with aubergine and goats cheese and guacamole. I measure a South American restaurant on it's guac and this was good. Then Ems had a Brazilian fish stew with rice, very good, and I had rabbit in chilli and chocolate sauce with a kind of dauphinoise potato thang. It was superb, the rabbit was falling off the bone and the sauce had the complexity of flavours that shows someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. If I were to add one negative it would be that the potatoes were a tad rich with an already rich dish. This is a really great eaterie which deserves to do well - I booked through toptable which meant i had a discount, but without this it would still have been great value. Go, drink cocktails, chat to the waiter, eat sublime ceviche. It will make you happy.

Food was very disappointing and over-priced.
The fish was tough, so much so that I couldn't cut it! The fish stew was bland. My starter was rock hard.
Service was good though, v attentive, but did not make up for poor quality food and poor value for money.

I visited Sabor for the first time and had a good experience whilst there.
The food was good as was the service but i was not blown away as i had been expecting.
The starters we shared were all very nice and a really good start to the meal. The stuffed cassava was the pick of the starters. I was then really looking forward to a great main and ordered rabbit in a chocolate mole sauce. When it arrived it was nice, but it did not make an impact as I'd hoped.
It was a nice meal and the service was friendly but i was hoping for slightly more.
Went to Sabor for the first time last night with friends and it blew me away! It was packed despite being only 7pm and the decor was lovely. We had bread to start, mixed empanada, cevichesr things which were amazing. I was stuffed after, and for £30 each including plenty of wine and cocktails I don't think it's bad value at all. I'll be back!
One may expect to hear the words 'I can't even look at you right now!' from a boyfriend /girlfriend or a parent telling off their child. One wouldn't expect to hear those words from their waiter, would they?! Well at Sabor, a restaurant 'passionate about food' one might. In fact, if you express the slightest disappointment with your meal, expect to hear just that. Also expect to be kicked out albeit 'politely'! I didn't know that there was a polite way of kicking someone out of a restaurant, half way through a less than average dining experience.
We expect a 15 pound piece of top quality Argentinian rib eye steak to be just that, top quality. Instead all three pieces ordered had more fat than meat and we could've spent less time chewing on gum!
After expressing our disappointment to the waiter, we were told that we had humiliated him. His response was to humiliate us in return and we walked out in absolute disbelief!
Certainly our worst dinning experience!
I recently organised a dinner at Sabor for 18 people. Although I had to reschedule 3 times, the staff were very patient and helpful. I found them to be very professional and nothing was too much trouble.
The evening ran very smoothly and the party were very pleased with the evening. Great food, fab cocktails, good atmosphere.

Superb food. I went with my girlfriend a few weeks back and had a good range of food - superb empanadas to start, great Ceviche.
I had the Argentinean rib eye for main which was incredible, great cassava chips
Wine was amazing and great service too. Not the best location, but recommend this if you like real south American food with the highest quality ingredients.

Had dinner on Friday for my birthday. Atmosphere was great. The service was perfect, attentive without being over the top. My partner had the empanadas for starter & it was delicious. I had the squid, which was nice, but not exceptional. For main I had the pork, which were very nice & my partner had the beef The wine list was extensive and all in all it was a lovely night out. Would definitely recommend it .
Went to this restaurant on the basis of the positive reviews i had read on this site.
In a word the food was AWFUL, utterly overpriced, tasteless and had no link to the South American style it is supposed to represent.
I am Colombian and can say this restaurant is a disgrace to Latin food. Do not go to this place and waste your money!!!!!!!!!!

I had the rabbit for main which was incredible - Fell off the bone, delicious chocolate sauce.Wine was amazing and great service too.
Not the best location, but recommend this if you like Spanish or southamerican food with the highest quality ingredients.
This is a poor quality restaurant masquerading as a fine dining establishment,
The food was of poor quality which made the extortionate amount they were charging extremely difficult to justify, also they get quite nasty when you refuse to pay the 10% service charge and make it quite clear that you are not ever welcome in the restaurant if you do not pay the charge.
Overall, BAD food, BAD service, OVERPRICED and a confused restaurant.
Had brunch here last week and really liked it.
I ordered a tamal, which turned out to be a little different from the traditional tamales which I've enjoyed in Colombia and Ecuador - in fact a lot better.
The textures were the same, but more filling, better quality meat and chicken, and I think more seasoning.
The green sauce (chimichurri? I'm not sure) really livened it up too, and the salad which came with it provided balance.
My friends ordered the 'Latin Burger', which seemed a bit of a cop-out to me, but actually I was jealous of their orders when they came - good juicy steak-burgers, topped with serrano ham and cheese, and again good contrasting side-dishes.
Service was good too - can't comment on the cocktails on this occasion as it was only brunch!
Very disappointing, I had been meaning to visit for a while but I won't be back in a hurry.
I ordered a Belvedere martini from the bar. What eventually came to my table 10 minutes later was a revolting mix of whiskey (!) and vermouth. I sent it back after arguing with the waitress who was explaining to me how Belvedere is a whiskey. huh?
Shrugging it off and sipping my new vodka martini with chunks of ice floating at the top, I chose my starter and main carefully since the menu was interesting and diverse.
I had the grilled scallops and the wild mushroom chimichenga. The scallops were hot and well cooked but the herb sauce was tepid and the passionfruit relish was really cold. So many different temperatures in one bite was strange and ruined dish for me.
I couldn't taste any mushrooms at all in my wild mushroom chimichenga - the filling was completely dominated by the very large portion of blue cheese stuffed in there. It just took over everything.
My boyfriend had the salt cod fritters which were nice, and the braised beef which he said was dull.
We didn't bother with dessert.
Awful--the servers at this restaurant had a difficult time getting to all of the customers given the narrow shape of the restaurant. The food, while some starters were good, was mostly bland or typical.
