I was looking for a Moroccan restaurant and found this place here on Viewlondon and thought I'd be the first to write a review on it. Unfortunately it's a really difficult area to park in before 8pm when most of the nearby parking bays are restriced until then but Safir is only a minute or two stroll from Hampstead tube. We went on a Thursday night and I made my excuses about the short notice when I rang about 1 hour before to book a table. It was quiet! Only three of the 15 or 20 tables had posteriors at them.

Staff there were super, genuinely nice and the service was fast although the place was pretty empty on this occassion. Despite quiet, the atmosphere is quite good mainly due to the quiet chatter, music and dim lighting (dark!) so it's good if you or your partner have worn in faces because you'll look much younger.

Nice decor too but no belly dancer. Decent selection on the menu and a starter main and dessert will end up around £20 without drinks. Try the Moroccan red wine....tasted like Chateau Neuf Du Pape to me but I'm no expert. The food was very good, well cooked, authentically presented and arrived fast. I didn't need to visit the little boys room but I thought I'd make the effort for my first rate review here. Bogs were smart except the liquid soap dispenser was empty and the hand dryer was out of order.
