A real find! We went for a set menu on a Friday night - One veggie, One Lamb, food was fantastic, more plates just kept coming out! Great friendly service, would definitely recommend a visit!
Excellent evening at this friendly, rough-and-ready meze bar. Don't go if you're expecting an uber-cool 'dining experience'. Do go if you want great food at tiny prices, good wine, Keo beer and a friendly owner offering excellent service.
Good food. The beer doubled the advertised price once the bill came and the mountain of Baklava brought out for a friends' birthday was "just for show"
Overall this restaurant went from fantastic to very disappointing.
Went to Sappho last night with a group of 5 other friends, food was amazing!! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something with so much more character and flavour than any of the standard chain restaurants. What makes this place extra special is the fantastic care that the gentleman takes of you. it is clear he is passionate about food and flavours and wants you to really enjoy and savour his food.

This place is fabulous! Its decor is very simple and you wouldn't notice it from the front but once inside and eating its amazing.
The older gentleman who looked after us gave us all the physical benefits of the food he was serving, which just keeps on coming.
So many dishes and so many fantastic and different flavours. The Tzsatziki is the best and the lamb just falls off the bone!
A diamond in the rough.
This place is just fantastic. The food is good honest Greek fare and tastes like very good home cooking. The flavors and freshness of the food are sensational and every mouthful a delight. For the price of £9.50 per head for three courses it is simply amazing the amount of different dishes that are served. The waitress even warns you when you are halfway through the meal so that you can hold back a bit if you are already feeling full! The owner is clearly passionate about his food and will happily tell you the ingredients and preparation details for every dish. The service is attentive and fast.
Highly recomended, I have been three times and each time the standard has been high.
Sappho Meze bar has very friendly service. The food was excellent and diverse - many things I've never eaten at a Greek restaurant before. The staff waited patiently for our entire group to arrive then the food came quickly...and then kept on coming! They asked us whether there were any vegetarians among our group (there were) and how many, and are obviously used to adapting their fixed menu to this. Good food at a good price (£9.50 + drinks).
