Sergio's is a regular favourite of mine. Reasons for this are easy... The food is amazing, always top quality and the portions are generous. Price wise, it is extremely reasonable taking into account where in London Sergio's is and the high standard of food which is always beautifully served to you. The staff are welcoming and effortlessly attend to your every need. I would recommend Sergio's to anyone.
I tried this restaurant out a couple of weeks ago when I went down to London on a business trip. Genuinely friendly staff are hard to come by, and Sergio's staff are just that. In particular, a guy called Kosta who I found particularly welcoming.
The portions aren't what you would expect in London, I went in with the vision of small, neatly laid out plates. The reality is huge, rustic portions of food. Served on a plate the size a small planet, not only was the food plentiful, but it was tasty, too.
Lastly, very reasonable price considering it is in W1.
I will be going back to London in a week or two, and will definitely be going back.
Oh, and if you do decide to go, ask for the butterfly chilli prawns, they are amazing!
Recently went to dinner there. Great atmosphere, treated wonderfully by the waiters (kosta is brilliant!) Real sense of family and very comfortable atmosphere.
Food was delicious, huge portions and personally I dont mind spending £20 for dinner if it tastes like that and I walk out fully satisfied! Good value for money.
Hadnt realised they had a party room downstair for private events either. Going to have to give that a go!
We came across Sergio's last Friday. The place was such fun, lots of flags and bunting for the royal wedding and TV's showing it.
We had a great afternoon, such a sunny spot and very popular with regulars, all added to the atmosphere.
We ate a great crab ravioli and drank more than one bottle of a very nice Rose from Australia recommended by our fun waiter.
I even got to keep my flag. Great place.
Loved it.
Really expensive, bog standard food. Came quite late on a Saturday night, were initally charmed by the waiter's banter, who encouraged us to have their specials, which sounded lovely until we go the bill and found out they were £25 each. Food was really mediocre- good for 1970's anglo italian, but certainly not worth £40 a head for one course with coffee. Other clientelle were very drunk. Thought one might be sick on the table, but fortunately left before he blew. Felt like a foolish tourist, taken for a ride.
Really expensive, and really bog standard food. Waiters like used car sales men, lots of talk, trying to sell you the specials which sound nice, until you realise they are £25 a head. Paid £162 for 4 main courses, 4 coffees and 1 bottle of rough wine. Got rushed out before we were ready to leave at 11pm. Makes you feel like a foolish tourist. Unwelcome and ripped off.
Sergio's is a great place.
Food is good, staff are a bit crazy but it's a really fun place.
had lunch there, table outside and watched the world go by.
loads of celebs from the BBC about as well.
cant beat it in the sunshine.
Food is good and servings are certainly big but waiters are a little pushy with things like drinks / deserts and this seems to be a bump on the bill! Pricey for what you actually get and judging by the recommended cake for desert I'd leave it!
I went to Sergios for a friend's birthday party - they were attentive, very friendly, recommended the best pasta dish I have ever tasted Spaghetti with King Prawns and chilli, all fresh and delicious. I couldn't fault them for anything and would highly recommend to all. We paid £35 each but we ordered plenty of wine to go with our meal.
This restaurant has PR's outside trying to entice you in. I'm normally put off by this bit went in anyway with work colleagues to have lunch.
Upon sitting down the waiter came running up to us saying "bottle of wine yes?" when we declined a bottle but said we'd have two glasses instead, he ran off and produced two very small glases of rose for us.
When we checked the bill at the end, they had charged us a shocking £6.50 a glass - for a very cheap rose in a very small glass. Then added service onto this price too! This was the most expensive glass of wine I'd ever drunk! Consdering the bottle itself probably cost the restaurant about £3 it's shocking they con their customers into ordering this and then charging so much.
The food was ok, quite large pizzas in a buzzy surrounding, but they obviously make their money by pulling this trick regarding wine.
Don't be pushed into having ordering a bottle or a glass when you first arrive, make sure you check the prices first otherwise you will have a shock when you get your bill!
I love eating at Sergio's Pizzeria Ristorante. It's a big, bubbly Italian place that does the best homemade ravioli around!
The wine list is pretty impressive too so if you like Italian food, I recommend Sergio's Pizzeria Ristorante.
