As a couple who had been frequently disappointed with the quality of indian food on offer at Brick lane, Shahi Karahi has really taken us by surprise, and is a complete breath of fresh air! The quality and authenticity of the food at Shahi Karahi is second to none on Brick Lane. ALL the food is freshly prepared, including the poppodoms that are freshly prepared as opposed to being preprepared hours in advance leaving them stale. The chicken tikka and seekh kebabs were absolutely delicious. As an indian couple who regularly eat out and are well aware of what authentic indian cooking should taste like, this place really raises the bar from any other that we have visited not only on Brick lane, but generally in London. The service was fantastic, the portion sizes extemely generous and the price was great value for money bearing in the mind the high quality of food on offer! Please go, you will not be disappointed!
excellent food, we all loved the grilled chicken and lamb biryani.
12 of us from work, decided to pay the usual a visit, Got this amazing smell of bbq as turned corner on to brick lane from whitechapel high street, been coming to brick lane, eaten at all the curry houses but never been greeted with this aroma. Decided to find out where it was coming from and it turns out it was Shahi Karahi Shahi karachi which looked like bit of a grill house/take away/kebab until this chap tells us theres seating inside and they do curries. Sold. Tried the big grill tray with lamb chops, shish kebabs, shawrma. Amazing. Followed by the best chili chicken on brick lane hands down with mashed potato Paratha. Only quarm is that they dont do beer, bring your own which isnt a issue because off'y round the corner. Stopped going to tayyabs a year ago because its always packed but re-discovered my mojo with this lot. 12 of us ate to our eyes for £105, normaly pay £180+. Going back tonight with family after cinemas.
6 of us are staying in London for work and this joint has become a bit of a regular for us after the pub. Food 10/10, environment 10/10, best value for money in the area i reckon, service lets it down when its busy but we know the times to go now to avoid the rush. Dont serve beer so we take our own, all in all i can safely say the best indian i have ever been to. best regards from Newcastle
