We celebrated my Mother's 75th Birthday with a Family Dinner last night. The Guest List included children as young as six. There are so many Resturaunts (too many) in England that abhor the sight of children. Not so at Simpsons. The Children were welcomed as guests of honour, the Maitre d' took the trouble to find out and remember the children's names, treated them as diners of equal status to their older companions and entertained them at the end of the meal.
The range of food was outstanding, wonderfully presented and unhurried. The choices available catered for both the adventurous and the more conservative palate. The signature Roast Beef was the best I have tasted in any resturaunt. So if you're looking for a place to celebrate a special event and you have children to cater form, you couldn't do better than Simpsons. As one of the (French) waiters said to us at the end of the evening, its the hang up that the British Restaurant trade have with giving children access to good food that goes a long way to explaining why our youngsters are overweight, unfit and used only to a diet of pizza and burgers.
Simpsons in the Strand: I recently took a party of four and all had a perfect evening. Food and staff great.
My wife and I went for lunch there at Simpson's in the Strand yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed the service, the atmosphere and above all the food. After a tour around Clarence House where else could we dine, but Simpson's?
The setting for the meal at Simpsons is soft and immaculate, the service we recieved was second to none and the food was simply wonderful. I found that the prices were very good, I've paid more for food that wasn't as good elsewhere. Top marks! I'll be going again soon.
If you are looking for fine dining in London I would recommend giving Simpsons-in-the-Strand a look.
I used Simpson's for a business event last night. It was a lovely venue with very attentive staff, great ambience and better than average food. I will definitely use the venue for future events.
Simpsons-in-the-Strand is wonderful with turn of the century (20th) decor and attentive yet unobtrusive service. We went for the signature dishes including beef (served from a trolley, and carved at the table) and treacle pudding (velvety vanilla custard, swamping a light citrus pudding) they were overwhelming. It was more than I would usually pay for lunch (Gaby's Falafel) but a superb experience. Do yourself a favour and go! I'll be back....
Went for breakfast at Simpsons-in-the-Strand this morning. Very disappointing. The waiter told me the chef refuses to make Eggs Benedict because it takes too long. The scrambled eggs I had were green and not very tasty. The fresh orange juice was the best part of the meal. I wished I had stayed home and made my own. Decor very nice.
Food excellent, wine menu very good and service/staff was excellent. Attentive service but not intrusive. Have been twice in last 3 months and am never disappointed. Expensive but well worth the money.
