We were regulars at this lovely little family run BYO Thai. I've been going here for years and have introduced so many people to this place. The only issue I have is Thelma (the mother) and her mood swings. We mostly laugh it off but this time she was out of order. We simply asked for vegetables to be put in the veg pad Thai (there were none) - talk about the end of the world. Instead of 'is everything OK?', 'did we get it wrong' just anything in a polite and smiley manner - she came charging out of the kitchen, visibly angry and started questioning us. I ended up explaining 3 times 'just vegetables please' because she was so busy being angry and telling us off like we are little children. It just didn't occur to her that the waiter may have made a mistake by excluding the veg. He also got one of the main dishes wrong - we ordered green chicken curry but we got some kind of beef stir fry instead - we were too scared to say something by then.
We remained polite until the end of our meal, she stayed annoyed with us, ignored us the rest of the night and didn't look in our direction or thank us for our payment. For the first time we didn't leave any tip and will probably never return - not that she cares because she is just so hard-faced. What a real shame she is the way she is. A truly unhappy experience from the most unhappiest woman I've ever come across.

My favourite food is Thai and have tried all the thai restuarants within 4 miles of Singburi and without a doubt the food here is a cut above the rest. Yes the decor is very kitch and lighting could be improved but the atmosphere is lively and the clientele come here for the authentic thai cuisine which is without a doubt the best thai food around. Prices are reasonable and as you can bring your own drink it is excellent value in my opinion. Certainly I would recommend this to thai food lovers.

West End prices? that person is talking rubbish. it's really nice and extremely affordable.

You will only feel like you've walked out of a dirty shower if your idea of decor is Ikea.

it's an amiable genuine traditional Thai resteraunt. That's owned by down to earth approachable people. good fun

Like eating food with your family whilst sitting at a table in a skip.

Place is dated and dirty and is sold on the basis that it is cosy and down to earth. I would rather sit in an empty freshly painted room that this kind of hole.

It is like having a shower and coming out feeling dirtier than when you went in the cubicle, that kind of feeling.

West End sky high prices too!

This place serves the best thai food I have tasted and I have tried most in East London. Yes it is small, yes it has poor lighting, yes it is a bit like a cafe. But let's be honest the food is excellent and cost is very reasonable for true thai cuisine which to date I have been unable to beat. Off there again tonight and the place will be full so must be doing something right.

This has been my favourite restaurant for the about a decade. The food is delicious - vegetables and meat all cooked to perfection, a feast of flavours, and a bring-your-own beer/wine policy that keeps the cost down. The owners are great, and the specials menu invariably has something new and intriguing each time I visit.
