We went to Sketch for a birthday celebration, consisting of 8 people as we heard a lot about it's quirky features. However, we have not anticipated being sat on a high table which reminded us of a bar table, and felt really uncomfortable throughout the course of our dinner. It would be good if they had warn us or at least asked us if that's alright as that really started off our evening with a bad impression of the place, in terms of table planning. The food is all right, not entirely worth the price. The waiting staff however were attentive and delightful. Overall, i wouldnt recommend this place for more than 6 people. It's an interesting place to visit, but only for a small crowd, unless you welcome the idea of sitting on a high chair throughout the evening.
With its spectacular interior, lavished with contemporary art installations and somewhat spontaneous décor, is it any wonder that London’s West End Sketch restaurant is wined and dined by those that impose a title of a ‘fine diner’?
As you walk through the distinctively dimmed atmospherical atrium, you are warmingly welcomed by an intricately small staircase which entails an intriguingly large splat of paint, lingering beneath the first step which follows a gradual fade to the top of the staircase. Once you reach the top, you are faced with the utmost impressive lavatories with radiating marbled walls pasted with crystals embedded in complex patterns from floor to ceiling. At first glance, I can honestly say I was remarkably stunned at the sparkling crystals and beads that hung before me, in a space I least expected to be of great purity. However, after much convincing, the outrageous idea of having been surrounded by such exquisite interior, why not indulge in ones experience of the most abundant lavatory?
After my very much ‘guided tour’ of the ‘precious’ places of the restaurant, I found myself in much awe of the rest of what the Sketch had to offer, and with no uncertainty in my mind, I was magnificently impressed and overwhelmed by my encounter. If aristocratic dining is what exceeds your expectations as a diner, I could not urge you more to visit this implausible place of not only exquisite dining but impeccable surroundings and endowment. An experience worth every penny spent, for an entirely unforgettable night out in one of London’s best restaurants on offer.
The Gallery at sketch is great; i came last week for a friends birthday and we all had such a great time! The food not only tasted good, but was so beautifully presented and was accompanied by the nicest selection of bread.
After dinner we moved to the pod bar to carry on drinking and celebrating with cocktails
I totally agree with this review of Sketch Gallery restaurant. Lots of people like to slate it but I think it's a really special restaurant. The Sketch Gallery restaurant really makes an effort with the decor, the food is sublime and I would recommend that every Londoner should eat here at least once - it's just so glamorous you can't fail to be impressed.
Sketch Gallery is quite an expensive place to eat. The food is very tasty but you don't get much of it and it's not particularly filling.
This is a really trendy place with modern decor. Sketch Gallery is chic but not cheap!
