I have had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant twice & have had a great experience both times - unlike other reviewer! From the bread through to the desserts it was a great experience. Since the 1st time I went they have had a revamp of restaurant and menu - new head chef too I understand but food was just as good. It was a little less "fine dining" and more accessible.
I have always found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly.
I would say to other review stand up & say if something is not to your liking - especially if it inedible! My experience is that chefs will happilly change something!

I was really looking forward to eating here after witnessing Mr Torodes exacting standards on Masterchef, however I couldn't have been more wrong. We started with dipping bread with Balsamic and olive oil which was nice and our starters were delicious; field mushrooms wih poached egg on toast (but burnt toast let it down). Then my main course was terrible. My partner ordered the steak and said it was fine as steaks go, I ordered the chicken and it was inedible! I enquired about the 'green sauce' with the pork but could not be given a straight answer as to what it was so thought I'd play it safe with the chicken. To say it was dry is an understatement, I couldn't actually even spear the meat with my fork as it was so over cooked. It was black and rock solid and my fork rebounded off of it! Seeing as we had booked an early table and were the first cover I can't understand why it was so overcooked, it's not as if it had been sitting around all evening. Naivety if obviously my middle name as I still decided to try a pudding. We shared the chocolate torte and this may be a personal taste thing, but again it was inedible. It tasted of 100% cocoa solids, I have never eaten such an overpowering and bitter torte! To say we were impressed is an understatement! I am one those stupid few who never complain so we ended up paying around £70.00 for a dinner we didn't enjoy! It may of just been an off day but I wont be going back!
