What a shame. my boyfriend booked a table at square olive for valentines day and when we arrived the restaurant looked really attractive and the live musician was just setting up. We were given a wine list and a full menu with a set valentines option at the front, having ordered and received our wine we decided that we didn't really want a dessert so chose things from the main menu. When we ordered the waitress told us that we HAD to order from the set menu. We explained that we did not want a dessert and were told that we could have our wine instead which still left us £10 short. At this point a senior waitress came and asked what the problem was so we explained again and were told that the manager had said that we must order from the set menu as the kitchen had only prepared for this and the set menu included payment for the live music.
This would not have been a problem but when We said that we would pay for our drinks and go where we could eat what we wanted we were given a bill for another table where the people had ordered from the main menu! This was then hastily removed! All of this would not have been a problem but when my boyfriend booked he was not told that the set menu was going to be the only option and we were not told when we sat down that we had no other choice and were still given the main menu!

Held a surprise 40th birthday dinner party at Square Olive in Hampton Court and it couldn’t have gone any better. Thank you all for helping to make a special celebration even more special, your restaurant was absolutely ideal for it and you all helped ensure we all had a great time. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was and how very friendly and welcoming you all were. Compliments to the chief and staff and I look forward to visiting you again soon.

What a wonderful restaurant! The service is impeccable, the food is delightful and in generous portions and the decor is stylish. We love this restaurant and the friendly, relaxed ambience that greets us.

Went for lunch on Saturday afternoon and Square Olive is a very nice setting, which has excellent decor and a wide variety on the menu.

Really nice place but unfortunately the food and service let it down. The service was over attentive and the food was good enough, but not value for money and you probably would get just as nice a meal across the road in Zizzi's for half the price. You could most probably make the dishes for less and also serve bigger portions.

Overall not a bad place but been to better places and had better food.

Superb location with tasteful decor. Excellent wine list. Food a disappointment as did not match the descriptions on the menu (eg; strips of pork belly was actually a pork roulade). Meals arrived very quickly so seems unlikely it was prepared to order. Resembled school dinners but edible if uninspiring!

We totally agree with the other reviewers, the Square Olive is really special. Have just been for lunch and the vegetable soup was freshly made and delicious. My favourite dish is the ravioli with truffle, but this was not available today, as they were awaiting a delivery of truffles from Italy. I had the ravioli with tomato instead, and it is hard to choose between them. My husband, who normally turns his nose up at pasta, chooses it at the Square Olive and we have not been disappointed with any dish on our three visits. Service is pleasant and friendly and we will be going back.

I've been twice now, lunch and dinner. Both times had a great time. Food was fantastic, well priced and amazing tastes. The service by the staff also made the whole experience a joy. It's great to go some where the staff take pride in their job.
The decor is also great, somewhere very cool to drink or eat.
Will be going back for more!

We went there with some friends for dinner last weekend. The food was the best Italian food i had in Surrey for a long time and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We decided to try the cocktails at the bar after dinner and we were all impressed. We will be back.
