I visited the Star of India very recently for a family birthday. I found the food exceptional with plenty to choose from the menu and found it to be very good value for money.

The only negative comment i would make is the service could have been better with waiters needing to be a bit more attentive towards their customers. When it came to the end of our meal our dirty plates were just left before eventually and after being prompted, someone came to clear them away.

All in all though a very pleasant restaurant.

The food was very fresh and tasty. Service was attentive but not overpowering. Reza Mahammad the owner had been on TV in 'A Place in France, an Indian Summer'. He was happy to chat to some of the guests and pose for photos. A really friendly guy.

Soft classical music played in the background and the decor was roman in style. I found the price of both food and wine reasonable. A good night out.
