Went to the restaurant last night for the first time after looking at online reviews for a restaurant near Oxford Street. Reviews were good in general so decided to try this restaurant.
There was a good choice on the menu, liked the ambience of the place, e.g. candles but was disappointed with the food. There were 4 of us, 3 of us had pasta dishes and 1 of us had the duck. 1 of the pasta dishes was a special for the day and it was more expensive but not worth the money.
All the pasta was overdone. The pasta sauces tasted heavy and greasy, even the simple clams dish. I do expect Italians to put quite an amount of olive oil in their cooking (which I love) but there was no flavour or aroma of olive oil, just tasted greasy. The duck was overcooked. Only one of us had a desert which was a tiramasu and it was quite nice. Comfy seating but service was mediocre.

I have just been there along with other thirteen friends. It was the worse service I have in years.
We arrived at the restaurant at 21:30 o'clock on a Saturday and the restaurant was half empty. Nonetheless, the waiter kept rushing us asking again and again what drinks we were having and bothering the people who order tab water trying to force them to order something else. Instants after the drinks arrive, and with people paying attention to the menu they started taking orders. My friends started feeling uncomfortable, so I spoke up and asked them if they were about to close or something. They reply that they weren't and I asked why they were rushing us. Far from apologising, the waiter continue asking for the food and in a sarcastic tone asked me whether I have had time already (2 minutes later). At that moment, I called the manager and ask them how they could allow a waiter to mock in that way a customer and told him that he won't be getting any service.
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard his answer, he said 'you would pay the service because you have to', and I said 'i don't have to as you say in the menu and according to the British law the service is optional' and he said that it was his restaurant and that inside of it he was the law.
Unbelievable, we stayed because we were too many but would never go back.
Fantastic food, excellent service and very reasonably priced in a prime London location. Check it out and you will be very well looked after. 5 Stars!
was looking for the perfect place to go, so checked out this site and saw the reviews for Stef's so thought i would check it out for my self and i must say it was a lovely evening. it was my partner's birthday and Stef and the rest of the waiting staff couldn't do enough for us. the atmosphere was just right, decor is beautiful, and the waiters attentive, and the food was just wonderful. would definitely be going back again soon and would highly recommend this place to all my friends.

Five colleagues and myself were looking for somewhere modern but with atmosphere for a final Christmas get together, and used this site prior to choosing this particular place. We know there are positive and the odd negative reviews but to be honest I had looked through the window shortly before we booked and just went on instinct. Parties of six can be a bit demanding (and we were) but that did not stop the staff from treating us professionally. Two of us changed our minds about dishes after ordering, but this did not seem to be a problem.
They were very attentive and in particular we think manager or possible owner of the restaurant seemed to be aware of everything happening on the floor. All our meals were served hot and at the same time and apart from one of us having a small appetite, our plates were clean after dining. The prices are competitive for such a central venue, which deserves recommendation. Gary Whitebeds
I was very disappointed with the service here. Firstly we had to wait ages to get served and then the wrong dish came for me. I could have put up with this but when we had finished our main course nobody came to collect our plates or ask if we wanted a dessert. Waiters were lucking around our table area but seemed to ignore us on purpose. After 20 minutes of waiting for somebody to collect our plates i eventually went up and paid at the till as Christmas would have been over if we had waited to grab the attention of the waiters for our bill. The food was average and the staff were sullen and unapologetic. I won't be going back.
I was very impressed with my pizza here, mmmmmm!!!!!
