A New Year and a new Strada!
The fifth restaurant in this ever growing chain follows hot on the heels of openings in both Islington and Exmouth Market, and is set to make its mark on central London’s Burlington Street. The new Strada features a 120 cover restaurant, a separate bar and an open plan kitchen all designed by Martin Brudnizki (the man behind the décor in the other restaurants).
With a brief to reinvent the Italian pizza and pasta restaurant concept for the London market, Brudnizki has created a contemporary restaurant using classic Italian materials such as sand-blasted stucco, leather and marble along with Italian walnut tables and flooring.
Dishes served in this flagship Strada are characterised by their regional influences and are prepared by the team of Italian chefs using the freshest and most traditional ingredients they can find. Classic starters include pasta e fagioli (traditional Tuscan borlotti bean and pasta soup) or bresaola (thinly sliced, cured beef fillet with rocket, aged parmigiano reggiano and lemon).
Pizza lovers will be in their element thanks to the Strada selection of woodfired specialities. Spun by hand they promise all their pizzas will have the authentic smoky flavour, thin bases and inspired toppings. Take your pick from 11 different varieties including Carciofi with marinated artichokes, Neapolitan fennel flavoured salami, mascarpone and wood roasted tomatoes or the Alici with salted anchovy fillets, baby capers, black olives, oregano, tomato and mozzarella.
Alternatively get stuck in to the sublime pasta with combinations such as spaghettini with fresh cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, garlic and olive oil or linguine with fresh squid, mussels, prawns and palourde clams cooked in fresh tomato sauce with chilli.
The exclusively Italian drinks list features a range of carefully chosen regional Italian wines and beers. House white and red are available in 500ml carafes and come with measuring sticks, ensuring you only pay for what you actually drink!
Owned by the Belgo group, Strada’s aim is to bring quality Italian food to customers looking for reasonable priced dishes without having to compromise on style or quality.
