After wandering round Wimbledon deliberating for about half an hour, we settled on Strada. The deal was clinched when a member if staff came outside to make sure we could see the menu properly, and I'm pleased to say the pleasant service continued from there.

The margarita pizza was fresh and full of flavour, the wine selection was good, the food came swiftly and the service was friendly... but the best part was the dessert. I was initially disappointed at hearing they had run out of my chosen dessert, but I soon forgot this when the waiter suggested one of his personal favourites which wasn't even on the menu - it was the warm chocolate fondant with melting centre topped with ice cream... it was delicious.

If you've had a hard day at work and you just want good tasting, uncomplicated food and to sit back with a glass of wine, I would recommend Strada.

If you want to go to a pizza place go to Strada. All the food's really fresh, the pizza's are cooked in a wood-fired oven and it's nowhere near as corporate as Pizza Express.
The best pizzas in town.

The food in Strada is good and reasonable. The service, particularly at busy times, is unacceptably poor. We live in Wimbledon and have more than once booked a table only to be told that there would be no table ready for some 15-20 minutes. The other experience we have had is being told "we are moving you to another table" beween courses, when they have not been able to accommodate another party. No attempt at a polite request. The Manager is particularly ungracious and seems determined to fill the restaurant to bursting at the cost of providing a relaxed evening.

You are not allowed to book at Strada in Wimbledon but we asked specially to do so as it was my daughter's 18th and we had 16 coming. After several phone calls, they agreed and I also rang 2 days before to confirm. However, when we got there we weren't expected, so after much to-do, we finally were seated. This ruined the start of a good evening. The food and wine is good, it is obviously popular at the medium range for Italian restaurants (although our waiter was not overly cheerful and not Italian). In hindsight, I wish we'd gone to Al Forno in Wimbledon town where the food isn't quite as good but the atmosphere and staff are loads better.
