i have been eating at indian restaurants for over 40 years an visited this restaurant this evening 28/4/12 the lamb tika was ok but the lamb vindaloo was awfull all i could taste was salt also the bombay potatoes tasted the same the waiters and staff looked after us well but i dont think we will be going to this place again on our next visit to london i can still taste the salt five hours on philip
The food is fair at best. This place is an unfortunate Tourist trap! The average experience was highlighted by the waiter giving us our bill with a 12.5% service charge added on and then had the cheek to ask our group if we wanted to add a tip. This is poor form. None of my group will be going back to this restaurant.

use to eat at this restaurant regularly few times a year and i am very sorry to say that it is not the way it use to be. I had been going there for the past 4 years with friends and the food or the service is not as good any more. I went there last week and the food does not have any flavour and the waiters do not how to serve or speak good English, the only thing now their good at is that they know how to rip people off.. dont go their trust me you wont like the food, its not same anymore. i think they need to start making their food the way the use to and stop changing waiters every 2 weeks, because everytime i went their i see new people.

I eat at Strand Tandoori quite regularly, i had been for the last two years.
About two weeks ago i ate there and the food was very tasty as always. Last week (About three days ago) I ate there and i was quite disappointed, the food did not look the same as it use to.
The food was too oily, salty and didn't look very nice, but i still tried it hoping it would taste just as nice as it use to.
Unfortunately i was wrong, the food was not tasty at all, and i was very unhappy, I always look forward to having nice meal after a long day.
Strand Tandoori for the first time let me down, I won't be able to come and eat at Stand Tandoori again.
Returned to the strand tandori but to find out that the happy our 20% off on a Satudxay night between 6 and 7 pm is no longer done due to new management, well next door does the happyhour so although we still had a good meal in there i think next time i may have to try next door as it works out better to get 20% off.
Shame as I liked this place but you have to think of your pocket these days. Food still great under new management and had a nice meal, will try next door tho as it may be just as nice for less money.
The restanrant's waiters are neither neither friendly nor responsible, and even dangerous. We asked the waiter to make sure the food that we ordered not have almond, because my dauhter is highly allergic to almond. My daughter developed allergic reaction after a few bites. So, we asked again to ask the kitchan staff which of the dish contain, and the answer came was they didn't know. Sine the dinner alredy ruined, we asked the bill which came with service charge which was totally unacceptable
The food was nice at Strand Tandoori Restaurant - and I say nice, because it was... nice.
Wasn't the best curry I've had in the world, also wasn't even close to being the worst. I left Strand Tandoori Restaurant feeling very satisfied. Starters of tandoori chicken and tandoori lamb chops, followed by a chicken chilli balti and pathia, with pilau, peshwari naan and bombay aloo - with 2 cobra beers and a malibu and coke - £40.60p. Not bad I'd say for Central London!
The fish in the window are amusing too.
I love Indian food, and had a really good meal at the Strand Tandoori a few weeks ago. The food was full of flavour and the service impressive.
The Strand Tandoori gets the thumbs up from me.
