Su Sazzagoni near Victoria Park never fails to impress, us locals are so lucky to have this real gem at hand. The food never fails, the house wines are fantastic, the welcome always so warm and friendly. This is a real regular for us and if you haven't been you should. No hesitation in recommending.
Overpriced food and very slow service when we went there. My main course was awful - meatballs in water. I was actually shocked but it was too late to do anything about it (although to be fair the staff did come over to explain it as being a 'summer' menu, although meatballs in water is just not something you expect for a £10 main course.) Apart from that staff only bothered with us to try and get us to order more overpriced wine. Rip off.
Amazing food and service. The only really genuine Sardinian Restaurant in London, as you would find in Sardinia. Fantastic wines. It will become my local. Well done Elena!!!
We have been to Su sazzagoniseveral time before. Food is always fresh and tasty and its staff welcoming. You can also taste some wonderful Sardinian wine which you cannot find very often in other Italian restaurants. Just one complaint: My friend was very disappointed to learn that they run out of their fantastic Tiramisu. It looks like we have to go back soon just for that!
I took my girlfriend here for a birthday surprise and it was everything I wanted to be and more.
A different funny way to have dinner. because you share long tables with other diners, we ended up chatting with some very nice people next to us.
Will definetely go again
we celebrated our wedding anniversary at su sazzagoni last Friday and it was an ideal combination of relaxed atmosphere,
pleasant surroundings and great food at a reasonable price
Su sazzagoni is a lovely venue and was extremely busy when we went on saturday evening, because we didn't book, we waited for 20 minutes for the table.
the food was delicious, the menu offered a good selection of dishes and I would recommend stopping there if you are in the area.
If you prefer a quieter environment go during the week.
this place is great. good food, friendly and polite service with exceptional wine.
I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for such high quality food.
Yes, I would dine at this restaurant. Especially after reading the review by the owner.
Good for her for standing up for her business. I own my restaurant in Putney & after 16 years of trading have learnt that the customer is not always right.
Good luck to Su Sazzagoni.
I don't care how good (even if overpriced) the food is at this restaurant - just read the 'review' by the owner dated 20 August.
Would you want to eat in an establishment managed by this person?
excellent food and wine. we went there after some friends told us how good this restaurant was.
I am Italian and very fussy, but the quality of that food made me happy,I particularly enjoyed the crab ravioli and the swordfish carpaccio.
the atmosphere is authentic Italian and the staff are very friendly and welcoming as well as efficient.
in my opinion it is one of the best Italian restaurant in London and prices are reasonable.
this area needed a restaurant like this. I wish it every success!
I am the owner of su sazzagoni and I would like to answer to poparius.
I can only say that what you wrote is very far from the truth.
the bag your friend put on a lamp was a plastic and fabric bag and got a mark, you also showed to me a damaged book.
I haven't seen any passport or purse, nor the most important thing: fire.
people at next table were two solicitors and when you left they called me. they were incredulous for YOUR behaviour, anyway, they are regular clients and offered their availability if I would need a witness.
we also have cameras watching exactly on the table were you were (by the entrance) and checking the records there is no trace of what you described in your review.

APPALLING. Food was mediocre. It was ok but not above the standard of Italian-style pub food but a lot pricier.
The service though was awful! After placing our order, the waitresses switched tables and our new one didn't speak very good English.
I got the wrong pizza, which I didn't mind. But they didn't seem to bother much. Finally, and here we go, when we prepared to pay, my friend picked up her handbag from under our table and suddenly realised that it was burning.
A lamp, that was built in the floor outside on the terrace had set fire to her bag and destroyed much of the contents. The waitress when realised what was happening stood by watching us try to extinguish the bag, menues in her hands, asking, if we would like dessert.
After that, half an hour of uneasy avoidance. Then, when we got the full bill, we asked whether we could have a discount to make up for the damage.
She said 'Sure' and came back with an Italian woman, supposedly the owner, who told us quite bluntly that it was our problem when we don't take care of where we place the bag, going on about how she always takes care of her designer bag collection.
When confronted with doubts about health and safety compliance of her establishment, she went on a half-hour tirade in front of all the other bewildered guests (the burnt bag was smelling quite badly), about her friend architect who built these lamps and she doesn't see any reason as to why we should be bothering her with my friend's destroyed bag including purse and passport (luckily it was only material damage).
When after 30 minutes of shouting and arguing, she still didn't seem to have the faintest understanding of why she should at least express regret about our material loss, not to mention a discount of the pricey bill or a free drink, we paid fully and left.
I think, we might not go there again.Worst restaurant experience of my whole life.
I adore this place! This has to be the best crab ravioli this side of Naples, and is worth the trek across town for.
Its a nice walk from Bethnal Green tube, through Vic Park, and a good way to feel a bit less guilty after indulging in their sublime sardinian cuisine.
Their Malloreddus is also the best in london.
Don't know about their pizzas, but can't recommend highly enough their sublime pastas... look out for the daily specials.
Really nice pizza too, I've been dreaming about that perfect light but soft and chewy dough (not too chewy, really just perfect).
Service good, they know their menu well. Wines fantastic, try the Sardinian whites.
Not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion or when someone else is paying...
Excellent Sardinian food and an outstanding wine list. Can't wait to have again the huge fish grigliata or the fregola with sea food.
One of the best Sardinian restaurants in London, the food and the wine are just superb and staff and owner very friendly.
My family had a lovely Easter lunch there. They all commented on what a good choice I had made on picking this restaurant.
The ambience was lovely the food was great with large portions. The service was fabulous the waitresses were very attentive.
My 7 year old son commented on how nice the restaurant was and if we could eat there every day.
Unfortunately we can't afford it but we will definatley going back to restaurant again.Maria from London
friendly restaurant which has a great atmosphere. It was relaxed but very busy. The food was good and everyone enjoyed the evening
The service and ambience were faultless, as were the black pasta with crab meat and the tuna carpaccio with basil and walnut pesto .
I would recommend this Italian restaurant, although it is on the pricey side. very good deli and take away service
went last night with a group of friends. Food was great, authentic Sardinian food, also wine was very good.
Prices were reasonable, . The owners were lovely, would definitely be going there again.
Our booking had been crossed out when we arrived, but we were given drinks on the house while it was sorted out and we had a short wait - so it was very pleasantly dealt with.
The food was outstanding, the house wine excellent and not expensive at all.we'll definetely be back!!!
su sazzagoni is the place for fish and pasta lovers!
Last night was my fourth visit. The food is always tasty, the service attentive and the ambience is always nice.
I always recommend the place to friends and family and every one who has been raves about it.
