An excellent restaurant with a posh bar with cheesy tunes! Loved it, though my Aussie mate quoted it as sleazy. No offence! Highly-recommended to mid-aged people for Friday nights where you'll spot suits-clanked hunks and ladies in black pencil skirts.
I went to Sugar Reef for my birthday party. We ate in the restaurant first and the food was amazing. I had the sticky chilli lamb rump which was delicious. Our drinks were also on happy hour in the restaurant which was great and made the bill much cheaper as well as the food being really reasonably priced. Our server Andrew was the best ever, so friendly and the service was really efficient. We then went downstairs to the club for the booth booking which just had an amazing atmosphere and the music was really well balanced - a bit of everything - which was a nice change to most clubs in London. They let me buy a lot of the drinks beforehand on happy hour prices which is nearly 50% off. Thanks to Sugar Reef and the staff there who were all great and what's best, it was a real bargain!
Has to be the worse place in London to eat. The food, service, everything was the worst I have experienced in the last five years of dining in London. I was tempted to go across the road and get a Big Mac after the meal.
The only reason I've given it one star is for the interior design and layout.
I went to Sugar Reef last Saturday as part of a meal deal. I was really impressed by the venue and the food. Two course meal - I had the goats cheese with cranberry to start, roast chicken main and then I had the chocolate roulard. All Excellent. The drinks were a little disappointing. It was happy hour which is good in anyone's books but the Mojito I ordered had no sugar in it and was mainly soda water. On the whole though definitely worth a go!
Visited London Yesterday for several business meetings and took advantage of an overnight stay and an evening with my wife. We started at Sugar Reef for a 2 course pre-theatre deal booked through lastminute followed by a trip round the corner to the Lyric Theatre to see Cabaret. The choice was limited to 3 starters and 4 main courses so selection didn't take much time. A waiter and waitress shared table duties. We were seated quickly and served quickly and had no complaints about the staff or venue.
Starters were goat's cheese with extras for my wife and soup plus bread for me. Both were fine, my soup seemed out of a packet but the bread was warm and filling. My wife was very happy with hers despite doubts about the goat's cheese which she hadn't tried before. Wine arrived fast and served with a champagne bucket with ice. The house white, a sauvignon and chardonnay combo, delighted my wife but I found horribly bland and fairly nasty to taste choose something more expensive when you go. Main course of salmon was great.
I went to Sugar Reef on a Saturday and wish I hadn't bothered. The food was mediocre and the staff need to learn how to treat customers! The club was ridiculously hot (I'm not sure if the air con was broken or what, but it was unhealthy), and the staff there were also rude and made us want to leave. Although the website says no trainers, most of us were wearing them and managed to get in no problem. I wouldn't recommend Sugar Reef purely because of the rudeness of the staff, but it seems to be a running theme throughout London establishments.
I ate at Sugar Reef and we were given a three course package menu and ate all three, only to be surprised with a bill for the third course which wasn't part of the package. Whilst the original advert stated two courses, their confirmation didn't and if you book several weeks early you might not remember!
The apologetic manner and comments from our server at Sugar Reef when presenting our bill also makes me think that is a common issue with cheapies like us! Be warned and check what you're paying for before you order! And I agree with the other comments regarding drinks prices.
I went to Sugar Reef yesterday for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend. I have to say it was lovely! The food was great, they have very friendly staff and great prices - a three course dinner at Sugar Reef was £15.00.
I really didn't mind Sugar Reef. It is spacious enough not to be cramped, with enough cool, laidback people around to meet others. The music was a good enough mix, and seems to be a good place for groups of singles to mix. The Sugar Reef drinks were rather pricey, I must say that's just typical of Soho.
Sugar Reef is definitely a place to go if you like comfort and sophistication in one. Met my mates there and made a proper night of it. It's not like some bars in W1 that are really girly and have stupid twirly pictures.
Sugar Reef is a good bar that serves good drink, and the atmosphere is nice anc chilled.
I love the restaurant at Sugar Reef, it's very nice. The club is good, quite low ceilings though, very cramped and hot but excellent music. You get into the Sugar Reef club free if you eat in the restaurant.
I thoroughly enjoyed Sugar Reef. This is one club on Saturday night where the ratio of men to women is 5 women to 1 man...pulled plenty of beautiful girls whilst at Sugar Reef too.
I went to Sugar Reef for a friend's birthday on a Saturday. We had a reserved area which was great. The food was unbelieveably cheap (although a bit cold on arrival). I found that overall the service is friendly and the night was good. The music at Sugar Reef was a mixture of the latest dance and pop. The cocktails are done well too! A good all rounder.
Plenty of cocktails made the food at Sugar Reef slip down nicely. The decor is interesting - not really my thing, but I had a pleasant enough night at Sugar Reef nonetheless.
Sugar Reef is one of the best late bars in London. The interior is stylish, the atmosphere is extremely relaxed and the funky music will keep you dancing for hours. If you get there for happy Hour, cocktails and wine are half price. What more could you ask for?
Suagr Reef is a fantastic bar with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. It has great music, but as it is not famously known for its clubbing experience it has a relativley small dance floor and closes quite early. However if you would like to have a great time out with a few friends, have a few drinks it's the perfect venue.
