The food at Hiroba is usually quite good, like the sushi and the sashimi are all pretty fresh and the place is popular with LSE students and working adults alike. But the service there is disappointing today. The manager did not allow us to sit on the table for 4 even though we had already booked it as I arrived alone first and on time. This is supposedly the case for many Chinese restaurants in where there are alot of people and they only give you tables when the party is fully assembled, but for the prices that you pay at Hiroba, it is simply not worth it. The manager was rude and unfriendly by suggesting that we change tables half way during the meal as our other 2 friends hadn't come after the first half hour that we were there and after we had already started eating quite alot. I told the manager that they were coming and he seemed unhappy about it. When they eventually came and we sat and ate the meal, there wasn't much service to speak of and we were made to pay the usual 10% later, which amounted to about 10 pounds. So I complained to the manager that the way they spoke to us about the table was unacceptable and he had a very bad attitude, insisted this was restaurant policy and even argued with me about it. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone who is looking for friendly service or a place where you'd expect to get your table when you arrive on time. Hiroba is a decidedly expensive restaurant and the attitude of the staff was and is pretty unacceptable. So please, if you do want respect, go somewhere else for sushi.

We went to Sushi Hiroba the other day and had a fabulous time. I love the Japanese style of small portions and lots of variety. This is a great place to go!
